More Opera Widgets?

Post by kris994 »

In the widgets menu on the Archos 605 you can click "get more widgets" (from the opera sie) but i can only find 1 more.. the calendar one.

Am i missing something, or is that all there is?

There should be more. When you are on the opera site press the new button to get the complete list.
Maybe when you don't see anymore widgets it has something todo with your language and region settings.

BTW the newest is World Factbook.

Well don't always believe what they are saying it is Archos you are talking about

You can goto http://widgets.opera.com/ with your normal PC and download there some more widgets, but most of them are made for the PC and not specially for the archos. So sometimes the fontsize will be a bit small or it will work too slow and sometimes not at all.

when you click on the "get more widgets" button you are transferred to special category on the opera-widgets site where you can download widgets made for your archos.

but as maurice already said don't believe archos - the 7 (or so) are the only ones you will find there (maybe more in the future, but who knows), but you can use (nearly) all "normal" opera widgets on the archos, too.
Just copy the downloaded .zip file to your widgets folder and you will find it in the list.

Due to the limited computing power and the small screen of the archos some will be very slow/laggy/choppy or won't run completely (most will run just fine, though), so don't expect much... you will have to try out ;)

Does the world factbook work for anybody? Once I select a country, it just seems to load forever, and nothing ever appears (and I've left it for a while...) Given it's supposed to be a widget especially for the archos it seems weird...

Yep, that World Fact Book was DOA for me too :( No big difference though. . . that still leaves me with "0" useful widgets!
