Archos files to DVD?
Has anyone ever burned the Archos AVI files to a DVD?
I'm wondering what DVD authoring software you found successful.
The main reason is so the portable DVD player we got for the car - if I can get the avi files onto a DVD I can keep the kiddo entertained for trips.

I've tried several programs, but the ones I have tried haven't been successful - they always hang up. That is why I am asking here instead of google searching. I have google searched and installed demos for weeks and still haven't found one to work properly.
I have tried the Ulead and Sonic(whatever they are called now) products and a few free dvd authoring softwares, but none of them complete a disc that works or they simply lock up.

Can't say for certain, but if none of them are working, it may be that the problem is not with the software, but with something else. Conversion often takes a long time; it can take longer than the length of the recording. Might you be giving up too soon? Might your computer not have enough memory? Also, DVDs generally only hold about two hours worth of video. Are you trying to convert something longer than that?marvins_dad wrote:I've tried several programs, but the ones I have tried haven't been successful - they always hang up. If you provide more details about what happens when you try to convert it might be easier for folks to help you.

My latest experience was using ULead's product. I was trying to put 3 30 min episodes. I really want to be able to have the chapter menu so you can select the episode you wish to view.
Everything seemed to be going well but after more than 6 hours it was locked at 65%...it had been at that point for a few hours at least. I had left it to work and went out to eat dinner and decided to check on it before I went to bed...still at 65%.
I'm running a year-ish old Gateway FX machine with dual core processor and 2gb of ram. It's a pretty decent machine.
I haven't tried Nero, but it's worth a shot, I didn't think they had the Chapter/Menu options, but I'll check it out.
Thanks for your responses...I have been battling this demon for a while and any suggestions are welcome.
