They are saying the new unit will be slightly bigger??? Hold the 605 up to your ear right now and tell me how that works out for you, as is?

I think they should make an OPEN OS on there next device.
Like for example, a codec's folder. So people can place any codec they like onto there device. And play any file they want.
And it would also allow for alot more homebrew type stuff. It would be a big selling point.
Like the GP2X But sexier, more capabilities and more ARCHOS like.

Lol.. ok there.
I'm not talking about archos making something similar to the GPX2.
Just the idea that GPX2 used which is a full open source device that encourages homebrew.
And for your information GPX2 is actually quite popular among the homebrew scene.

I think they got pretty close with the 605 actually. All I would want extra is:
Ogg + FLAC playback.
Mini USB socket
5V charger socket.
Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR
Non matte touchscreen.
Multiple bookmarks/resume.
Opera 9.5 + Flashlite 3.
eBook capability.
Removable battery.
Ability to upload additional Linux apps, such as games. They could still protect the rest of the disk. They just need to provide /usr/local access to put bins and libs in. Job done.
If it had all that then it would be the only device I'd carry. This would not be at all difficult to achieve.
DeoreDX, I love your mock up. It's fab!

You know you hit the big time when a new model has an icon of you on it.
Poor Charbax though, his icon makes him look kind of menacing.

It's clearly a poor representation of a icon design. A mug shot would have been somewhat real and although the Homer Simpson caricature could be real the "poof" hairdo is something I would never be caught dead with.

According to the Gadget Show, we might be seeing projectors in mobile telephones around 2010.. probably by the end of 2009...
So that isn't a too futuristic idea...
