I do find it bad that Asus Memo is only shipping with 3D, I don't trust the 3D although I bought a 3DS just to have some non glasses 3D to test and I am looking forward to first party games on that. Viewsonic 7x UI is a sad one, portrait only is boring. I was just happy to see Honeycomb on 7" screens and also on other ARM Processors than just Tegra2.

I'm not sure if the 7x is pie-in-the-sky: Viewsonic doesn't describe it as a product on their site. Instead they detail the 7e, a Gingerbread device, and it too is a "not-yet-released" device.

As seen during the IFA electronics show last week, the tablet will sport a white bezel, a 7-inch RiteTouch multi-touch screen (1024 x 600), a 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor, 512 MB of RAM, Google's Android 2.3 "Gingerbread" OS, 4 GB of internal storage and a microSD card slot for up to 32 GB of additional storage. Surprisingly, the cheaply-priced tablet will even sport a mini-HDMI port for pumping out 1080p video to an external HDMI-enabled display.

As for other specs, the tablet will feature Wi Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 2.1 with EDR connectivity, a G-Sensor for auto rotation, an ambient light sensor, a 3MP rear-facing camera and a 0.3MP front-facing camera and support for Flash 10.3. The device will measure 0.6 x 7.6 x 5.4-inches and weigh 1.06 pounds.

ViewSonic's Honeycomb-powered, 7-inch ViewPad 7x tablet will arrive late next month for a tasty price of $379 USD.....

As reported earlier, the tablet will be powered by Google's Android 3.2 "Honeycomb" OS (including all Google services) and feature a 1024 x 600 pixel capacitive multitouch display. It will also come packed with Nvidia's 1 GHz dual-core Tegra 2 SoC, a 5MP rear-facing camera and a 2MP front-facing camera. It will also have an HDMI-out port, support DLNA media streaming, 8 GB of internal storage, SRS audio and a microSD card slot.

PC Magazine, which offers a brief hands-on stemming from Pepcom (here: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2393018,00.asp), said that the tablet is nearly identical to the "four-star" Acer Iconia Tab A100 which sells for a cheaper $329. "I had real trouble telling them apart at first glance," PC Magazine's Sascha Segan stated. Liliputing's Brad Linder added that it offers better viewing angles and "just feels a little nicer" than Acer's similar offering. That said, the initial impressions sound positive, indicating that the device may even steal some of the thunder away from the 10.1-inch Asus Ee Pad Slider, also hitting shelves in October.
