Archos Platinum 40 factory reset

hi my Archos Platinum 40 wont boot up. I know how to get into the system recovery but its all in Chinese!! I did get once a factory reset message in English but I didn't do it in case I deleted all my photos by mistake. cant find any tutorials on youtube, any ideas please? thanks in advance.
