Arnova 10b G2 8gb - Firmware loading prob

Hi - I tried to download and install new firmware for Arnova 10 10b G.
I copied update.img, etc to root of device.
When the file was detected, it failed with - "Found invalid firmware image file - '/mnt/storage/update.img - would you like to delete it ?"
So, I had no option but to delete it, and abandon !

Please help (btw - no useful info provided by Archos Tech Support ............)

Bump. any update on this? I'm having the same problem and can't find a solution!
