Archos 1.5 GHz not available in the US.

Called Archos in my quest for a 1.5GHz omap 4460 processor and was told they are not available in the US. According to customer service they are planning for a release later this quarter of the G9 101 250gb model ONLY that will have the 4460. All other models will remain at 1.2 with the omap 4430. It was recommended to me that I join a following on facebook for release dates and updates

I have in my hands OMAP 4460

Can someone tell me how to confirm if I have 1.5 GHz and what exactly this means? I just received today, February 17 a new Archos 80G9 turbo. under settings > about > OMAP version: OMAP4460 ES1.1

Is it already known these are available? I am somewhat new to all this so this could be just my misunderstanding

Looks like they are just taking preorders. Site indicates march or April availability.

As a fustrated Archos consumer who ordered 4 tablets last months from 3 reputable vendors ALL advertising the 1.5Ghz models. I received 1.2GHz units. The vendors apologized and gladfully accepted returns. I called Archos customer service TWICE at the recommendation of one of the vendor and that was the story they told. One guy said ONLY the 101 250gb was going to be released later this quarter. The second guy said to follow you on a facebook page for release dates and announcements. In both calls they both said the units were not available for sale in the US at this time.

End of story.

You will also find another post where another user indicated AND proved he received a 1.5ghz unit. Myself and another forum member ordered from that same vendor(QVC) and both of us received 1.2GHz units.

Would you care to offer us an exchange?

Have you a date when the Archos 80 with 1gb ram, 1.5 ghz and 16gb storage will be available in the USA?

Dynamism.com said they have no further information but WILL have them soon, supposedly this month.
