markets & apps??

Hi, I have a 101gen8 (I believe) just got it for xmas. It came loaded with youtube and flash, but not the gmarket, the appslib is what I've been using.
My questions are 1-does this tablet already have a file i.e.apk. installed?
2-how can I check before adding the arctools fix?
3-how can I check/find the generation # ?
4-will I lose my apps if I install The Arctools app (I do not plan to reset since I've not tried to do this before )?
5-if I have problems with arctools can it be uninstalled & go back to appslib?
Any other helpful info would be greatly appreciated. I do not want to break my new tablet!!

1 - An .apk is like a .exe on Windows. So yes, you have lots installed
2 - Check What?
3 - Look on the device, where it says Archos 101 Internet Tablet, if 'G9' is written anywhere on there, it's a gen9, if not, it's gen 8. Also, look in the bottom left of your screen. If there are some buttons glowing blue there (Back, Home, Multitasking), you have Honeycomb, which only comes on Gen9's.
4 - No you wont lose any apps with ArcTools
5 - Yes.

Let me explain myself better ...
1-I am wondering if I already have the file to run gmarket since I can run youtube & flash. I was thinking these are ran by the same apk file. Of course, I could be mistaken
2-How to or can I check/search for the apk file on my tablet that runs gmarket? If there then there's no reason to add it.
3-ok,I have a gen8 then.

5-SUPER!!
Couple more questions, 6-after installing gmarket, can I use BOTH markets or only gmarket?
7-can I get good apps from another source without doing any of this?

2 It not on there, but you can search by going into the "Files" app and pressing the button with the magnifying glass on it
6 Both can be used
7 Yes you can

APK files work just like programs in windows. Adding a new market is like installing Firefox or Chrome. The new one is there, but so is the old one.

Would u mind elaborating on #7? Or pointing me in the right direction. I'm not super techy but I can hold my own.
I just don't wanna do unnessary stuff that may harm my device &/or give me grief

You'll be able to find anything you need on the Android market, but you can, if you want, install apps from the internet browser. I'm not going to go beyond saying that you can, because there are big security risks associated with that.

Very good! I understand. So in order to have more variety & safer apps I should go ahead and add gmarket.

Thanks. I kind of guessed that. I think it's silly when a moderator does that, with no mention of the link being removed - it makes a nonsense of the thread. On reflection, maybe the moderator should also remove our subsequent posts, referring to it?
