When music is playing, you can't be in Deep Sleep state by definition.
The problem that when I am listening music, I need to switch the screen off with the power button, otherwise my pockets will bring it back to life by just touching the screen. I always forget to press the button, so the player starts doing strange things when in my pocket. :P It's also not very good for the battery, I am afraid.
Oh come on, just one "s" too much is very annoying to you?
I am used to avoid most other bugs, but the "s" makes me focus on it every time I go to that screen. It just looks stupid. And the more annoying thing is, is that Archos didn't even bother to reply when I sent them an email. Sure, it's not a dealbreaker and there are many things Archos does the best, but that thing is just annoying. If Archos wants, I can translate for them all the untranslated G8, G9 and Arnova G2 stuff in Russian and Dutch translations(especially in the Russian translation many things are just untranslated). And don't worry, I speak both languages much better than English.

BTW, I updated my list with bugs/wishes. :P

Is it revertible to .19?

Update:
I've installed .81. Runs smooth, power consumption seams fixed. Left it to charge over night, unplugged it this morning, it was in deep sleep. 6h later, power is at 100%, so no power usage while in deep sleep. probably will drop % or two right after usage start but that's ok.

Airplane mode is gone from holding power button too.
I upgraded to .81 this morning. The home button works fine for me and holding the power button shows Airplane Mode.
A full format fixed it.

Installed yesterday
Had to download from the website - didn't appear as an OTA update.

No issues so far, and did a suspend over night last night.
Was 65% battery and woke up to 63%.
Perhaps this is finally fixed!! :D

If anyone is waiting for chulri's root update for 2.4.81, it looks like the project has come to an abrupt halt.

That sucks, I was waiting for that then I was going to move the soft buttons on top. Lame sauce. If I had know that, I probably wouldn't have upgraded to .81.

Someone will pick it up. If no one else does, I'm going to have to for my own use.

I installed SDE then Urukdroid 1.5 last nite. I have my old A70 back! =D>
It was easy once I followed the instructions for advanced install. No further comment is appropriate in this thread.

Yes, but do you have .81 installed? Your sig says otherwise.

Your question is not well phrased.

UrukDroid, unless you do something else after installation yourself, provides you with a dual-boot system - Android and / or Developer edition. UrukDroid does not remove your original FW. So, if you had 2.4.81 before you installed UrukDroid you will still have 2.4.81 afterwards. That's what you'll get when you choose to boot into Android.

When you select Developer, you will boot into UrukDroid. UrukDroid is based on earlier Archos FW, which one depends on which version of UrukDroid you install.

So, if you mean, does installing UrukDroid (like installing Chulri's Root does) provide you with the Archos FW updates provided up to 2.4.81, then the answer is no, sorry.

But you will still have 2.4 81 FW available for you to use if you want to.

You are correct. And now I have Uruk 1.6RC4 on it. It is based on 2.4.80. Uruk 1.5 is based on 2.3.81. My current Android firmware is 2.4.19.
I now have other issues that I need to figure out. I assume there is a large amount of unallocated memory preventing the installation of any apps. There's got to be a fix for that somewhere.

Why don't you all get back on topic?
What has anything concerning rooting these devices got to do with bugs in Firmware 2.4.81?
It would be better to start a new topic on rooting rather than clogging up this thread!

Installed .81 last night and all seems OK. Not sure about the battery problem although I had noticed it was not as good with the updates before .81. However, I do still notice that when set to deep sleep sometimes the green power light goes off and sometimes it stays on!!?

I have installed this update. As far as I can tell all works fine.
No major battery drain, UI runs fast as before...

I am still running 2.4.19. I don't see any great fixes, features, or other reasons to upgrade. Am I missing anything?

Depends, do you have a 70? Does your USB host still work? If so, the only thing they added was the Archos controller, which you can download from the Appslib. I still believe that is the best firmware; my fiancee's 101 is still running that one, and her USB port works, and doesn't really have any battery problems like I and most everybody else was having on the 70s and 101s up until now.
I don't know if I'd chance upgrading to .81 if everything is still working fine.

In .65 there was fixes for compatibility with some apk.
Like you, I was in .19.
I have upgraded directly to .81 because .65 and .80 had some problems with battery, and now it works fine.

I depends of what you usually do with your archos... mail ? games ? internet ?
