Yup, seems like everytime I check for new posts, there is more new SPAM than there are legitimate forum posts.
Is there not something the admin can do or is willing to do to eliminate at least some of it?

What about installing captcha software?
That ought to help take a load off the mods backs.

Any other suggestions?

are you taking the mick, if you realised just how much time we put into removing the crap you would be shocked.
Yesterday i spent probo 3/4 hour out of my life just removing the crap these scumbags put up, today so far a good 15mins - and thats just me, the other mods are spending the same amount of time if not more doing it as well, thus the main reason why i dont post much nowadays - im too shagged..
Captya dosnt work, they have cracked it and now were investigating other avenues (obviously were not gona make it public) to kick the scum off.
All we ask if for members to report posts and NOT REPLY!!! this makes our job easier to track down and kick of the spam.

I wasn't kidding or poking fun at anyone or trying to be annoying, just asking (in a USA type of way) if there was something more that could be done to help get rid of the spammers, and at the same time take some of the extra work away from the mods.

(I really need to brush up on British slang/humor)

Switch to a different CAPTCHA!

Try ReCAPTCHA. That's what I use for my websites.

It's not the end-all be-all either, of course, but I believe it'll still do something.
