Incomplete video playback on 504

Hello, i am new and I had an Archos 504 given to me and I have put some videos on it. I am having trouble with video's not finishing. I have 4 movies that show up in the video index on the Archos, they show the full time length but when they are playing, the (total) time on all video's jumps to 1 hour 14 minutes and the videos cut off at the 1 hour 14 minute point on every one. They are in AVI format and I have confirmed that they are complete on my PC. Is there something I am doing wrong?
