Video time bar problem

Is it just me or is the time bar at the bottom of the video pretty useless?

I want to be able to move to a particular time point in the movie.
I tap the screen at the bottom and the time bar appears.
90% of the time, when I try to drag the time bar it immediately disappears.
10% of the time the timebar moves but it doesn't seem possible to slide it to where I want it.

Maybe I have been spoilt after 3.5 years of the Archos 605 which is excellent at this.
I'm getting serious grief from the kids because I get to the place in the movie they want.

Is it just me?

It worked fine for me from the day 1. Today tested with avis and it was fine... Maybe its the codec you use or something?

My A101 doesn't have the problem either (AVIs with DivX+MP3).
