I don't think that flashtools supports other languages.
The fonts are located in the fonts directory-> a tutorial: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/s ... =firefox-a

You can try to set symlinks to the sdcard directory, so you should be able to change them witout flashing (risky!)

Thank you, so I'll try to replace the original fonts with mine, by copy/paste..

And for Link2SD to work, it need to put these 2 files:

Code: Select all

init-sd.sh
install-recovery.sh
into /system/etc , so I'll try with tuxflashtool too and report.

About symlinks, I'm trying to google for it and try, if you knew any source please post yours, thank you then!

Copy rkcrc.exe and cygwin1.dll in the /unpacked/image folder, open command prompt, cd to the image folder and type:

Code:
rkcrc.exe system.img system.s.img
The Output is:

Code: Select all

      4 [sig] rkcrc 6244 C:\afptool\unpacked\Image\rkcrc.exe: *** fatal error -
couldn't create signal pipe, Win32 error 5

Btw, I don't understand this line:

Code: Select all

rename "system.img" in "system.unsigned" and "system.s.img" in "system.img"

Maybe Bitdefender? ->http://forum.bitdefender.com/index.php?showtopic=8687
Other firewall?
Antivirus?
rkrcr opens "system.img" and the outputfile is named "system.s.img". After that you can delete the unsigned "system.img" or rename it. "system.s.img" must be renamed in system.img before image creation. There are many ways to do this. The signed image contains 4 more bytes.

I use Kaspersky Internet Security, but despite putting it into exclusion, disable Kaspersky I still get that error message. So I think the last thing I can do is ask for your help in modifying the image's contents :( :(

1. I want to replace the default Android fonts with my Arial unicode (to read my UTF-8 fonts).
2. put 2 files into /system/etc , for Link2SD to work.

Code: Select all

init-sd.sh
install-recovery.sh
Just 2 of that, so thank you so much for helping me! All files are uploaded to mediafire:

I will upload it to mediafire.
I don't think adding only the two files will enable app2sd or link2sd, so I did it the way the author of app2sd discribes ( http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_i ... 3170833688). I don't know if it works...
I changed only two fonts "droid sans bold" and "droid sans ttf". Italic and Italic Bold aren't present in the voltaire rom. Maybe Android don't use them.

Try it without warranty. I did my best.

BTW did you see the Android 2.2 rom? It has built-in App2sd afaik.

First thank you so much!!

I'm downloading and will test it tomorrow.

I just tried the 2.3 Cyanogen mod but it seems to be bad and has lots of bugs.
'bout the 2.2 rom, do you mean for Archos 70b ? do you mean this : http://forum.archosfans.com/viewtopic.php?f=82&t=56987 ? I've just seen it and will give it a try tomorrow, so excited!
Thank you!

Here is a BQ Voltaire custom rom android 2.1 with Link2SD. Prerequisites: Fast big SD card with 2 partitions (1st FAT32, 2nd EXT3). Made with mini-tool. 2 x (primary)
No software of one's own. Only adapted. With me runs super.

The Archos 70 b eReaders and BQ Voltaire tablet run with the firmware Voltaire_20110699_v2.0.9.-2 _update.img very stable. For some days has been there one for this equipment android 2.2 version. There were some crahs on my device with that and moving the Apps on a SD card also doesn't work.
A rooted version with containedly in the Link2SD (you can move the Apps on SD card) the above-mentioned version in the link. E.g. an optimal mode of operation is possible with a 32 GB SD card class 10.
The Mini tool partition software can with standalone the SD card be formatted into 2 partitions. 1st partition FAT32 (e.g. 28 GB) 2nd partition ext3 (rest) both primary.
The approx. 2 GB suffice for many Apps.
This is a faulty version.( Tue Sep 27, 2011 1:54 pm Re: Finding a better rom) I have tested so much. This is right here.

I installed this firmware, but it does not work in the Android Market, I can not download the application. Do I need to format the SD card as you described?

Formatting your SD card is just for Link2SD to work.

About the market, if you encounter such "unsucessful" then wait for half a day or more then try again, this is Google-related-bug

A modified version with Superuser 3 here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?m095g9slkw8ii1o
Google Market preserves an update after the first call (take account symbol) . After reboot it new .
The rearrangement to the new version with Titanium backup wasn't successful. The memory management was faulty. Installing everything newly best. After that runs better.
This custom rom contains Link2SD use with 2 partitions of SD card.

I found firmware for Multi Pad Prestigio 3074b. I installed and running:) You can try. It has the Android Market. Android version 2.1. Firmware can be downloaded here: http://marketing.prestigio.com/$Custome ... 2.0.16.zip. There are several applications and games added by the manufacturer.

Everything works fine with the Rom of the Multi Pad?
I wask because the MultiPad has a 8,4" Screen and our Archos only 7".
There┬┤s no problem because of that?
Could you root it and can you hide the Statusbar <<<--- The fucking Statusbar is very annoying

You're right. I was wrong, the symbol ... It should be Multipad Prestigio 3074b. This tablet has a screen size of 7 ". Fixed previous news. You can try new version firmware - 2.0.18. All roms for 3074b can be found here: http://marketing.prestigio.com/$Custome ... /PMP3074B/. Unfortunately, I don't know how to make root for this firmware

Hi guys,
I am sorry but this stuff is going a little over my head.
I Installed the (first) Voltaire rom. At first I was very content but lately I had many crashes. It stopped crashing when I deleted some apps.
Please, can someone give me an answer to the following questions:
- Is there a solid android 2.2 availible for the Archos? (I would really like to use flash)
- If so, wich one is it and is anybody willing to make a simple manual for installing it?
Thanks in advance,
Ed
