I sometimes get ghost touch effects when on power (specifically zooming when I intended to scroll the screen) until I touch the body of the unit with my other hand at the same time as screen input.
It has to do with poor capacitive link when on mains power due to the psu not having any earth pin (high mains noise on supply).
Quite a large amount of perceived bad touch input can be put down to the combination of an insulating case, on psu and on a stand so only one finger is in contact with the units screen.
As the touch input is optimized for hand-held usage, try touching any part of the metal body with a finger from your other hand whilst making screen input, you'll be surprised at the difference..
