I have a USB port in my car and I have a cord that uses powered USB to a 3.5mm jack that I use for my A70. I hope it works for my A100 as well.

I will test the GPS as well, but it sounds like it locks on without wifi.

Looks like a 12v power supply port, just like the 500.

So they had the tablet at my local Walmart for $328 with a $50 gift card.

The GPS did work in about 30sec using CoPilot, I will take it for a drive tomorrow and see how it works on the road.

So far so good, it is snappy and runs flash very well.

Viewing angles bad as usual with these displays, but usable.

The format is sweet in the 7', was waiting for that to appear in Honeycomb before I purchased anything.

The GPS test will determine if it is a keeper or a returner.

Not working list:
Netflix, installs but fails with a "cannot connect to Netflix servers"

I returned both the 7 &10 inches. None of my androids video apps work. Not sure if it's because of honeycomb. Netflix, tvu, spb wont work at all. I guess Honeycomb has a problem: apps. Not all android apps will work. So i may wait for icecream or stick with gingerbread tablet.
We'll see if somehow archos does things differently.

Isn't that problem what you hear about in different articles on the web regarding the lack of apps for Honeycomb?

So it is not fully backwards compatible and developers are not rewriting existing apps.

Also the screen size cuts of part of apps, It was noted many apps have a settings button all the way to the right or left and it does not appear.

Starting to look closer to a returner for me, Google needs to get on the ball if they want success with their OS.

But it is getting a little long in the tooth Allen.
Every one of their OS so far is still waiting for the "next".

Guess the answer is to carry a fat wallet

I got mine last night.

I used wifi to lock onto satellites. I could then turn off wifi and lock on with no problem.

I then drove to work this morning (without gps on) and while I was walking into the building, I was able to lock on within 45 seconds. So wifi is not needed to lock on everytime, but it does take longer.

Well I chose to drive with the GPS ON, as we were trying to determine if it works well in the car.

And it does, however obvious another weak GPS, does not work consistently if left on the seat.
Holding up over the dash it came back and was ok.

Although I like the format a lot and it is fast, it also is a return.
I cannot wait for neither Acer or Google to fix these problems, it just brings back memories of the frustration with the A5it.

you're right. I never paid attention to that issue. Not i do no like the bigger size of G9 80 but Honneycomb issue with my favored apps will keep me away. I'm even thinking going after windows tablet. But the price and the big size are my problems.

I'm very tempted to pick one of these up with the Wal-mart promo, but I'm really disappointed that Netflix doesn't work and that they've gone with a 12V charger. Having to pack yet another brick doesn't lighten my load any.

Netflix does work after root that was posted on xda. The charger is small, so I don't know why you think it would be a brick.

I haven't had any app problems yet. With 3.2, phone apps stretch to fill the screen.

Just got A100 - totally loving it - Walmart $328 plus a $50 Gift Card this week only.

Great device - well built, super fast, feels good in the hand and Honeycomb 3.2 is so slick compared to either Froyo or iOS - makes our iPad seem so last year and much though we are devoted to our Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 Wifi - the Acer Iconia A100/Honeycomb is in a different stratosphere.

And can confirm from System->Device Information- RAM 1GB

It may be a small brick, but it's still a brick compared to one USB AC adaptor and a bunch of USB charging cables that I carry now (one for phone, one for iPod, one for A70).

Yeah,I had the usb to power port for the a70, so that is a bummer that it doesn't work for the a100. But the a100 charger is about the size of the standard a70 charger.

So I was not going to wait for Acer or Google to fix/allow the tablet access to say Netflix or whatever does not work on the thing.
My plan was to return it Monday for a refund.

I had seen the post on xda regarding root and fix for netflix, so I thought what the hell nothing to loose.

After root, very simple btw, there is a file floating around from a xoom tablet that does have netflix access.
Copied it to /system/lib and backed up the old file.

I must say I am extremely impressed how well the a100 handles netflix.

Still pretty upset users have to make these things work them self when the tablet has the ability to run the app w/o any problem.

Maybe the tablet manufactures have no interest in the need or want of the US users, but they will be loosing out in returns when things don't work.
