Could Archos Be Starting A Gen 9 Ad Campaign?

Saw this about Archos hiring and Ad firm. I wonder if Archos plans on promoting the Generation 9 Tablets to take on the Ipad 2 and other tablets? Also I wonder why we haven't gotten any sneak peaks at the Generation 9's yet before the launch on Thursday?

I don't think Thursday is the launch day. I think it is there time to officially announce gen 9 to the world. It will be our sneak peek that you speak of. Then they will probably be released later on in the year. This is just my guess though. I think the PR firm is to also improve the image of Archos after Archos' tech support hurt their image.

Personally, I don't react well to deceptive tactics.

I prefer a vendor to state that they will gives products intentions/specs on
Date1

take orders on
Date2

and ship on
Date3.

Sure those dates might slip or content might change,
and then let us know as quick as possible, but please do away with the
spin and deceit.

That's what I like to do myself, though I admit that sometimes
it is a fight with marketing and upper management.

You constantly have to sell "openness" as a feature that gains
trust and more sales than it loses sales.

You can back it in that you will have to wait until the fall. The original 'teaser' said there would be an announcement in June on new devices due for release in September. Which, if going on previous experience, means a small number will be available in September with more gradually coming available over the next 6 months to meet orders. Unless you are one of the lucky few who get their orders in earlier enough you may well have a significant wait. I ordered a Gen8 101 in September last year, got it in January this year. This is a common experience - just have a look at any of the delivery related threads in Gen 8, and Gen 7 also. That said, of course, Archos may have ironed out all of its supply line issues and got a better handle on the size of their market. Remains to be seen.

The chances of generation 9 tablets being available tomorrow are slim and none if history has anything to say about it. Archos pmp's and, most recently, tablets have all been released at the earliest in September. In recent years availability dates have been pushed back to October/November in some places....

I don't suppose we'll get the tablets from G9 before september 2011.. (Even if I really hope that the tablets wanna come in July or august!
But in a couple of hour we will know it for sure Yeah!
