Custom ROM for A7HTV2: Android 2.2 (7HTV2_22.22)
Re: Custom ROM for A7HTV2: Android 2.2 (7HTV2_22.20)
JIT optimization are real on this version or 7htv2 not support it ?
Re: Custom ROM for A7HTV2: Android 2.2 (7HTV2_22.20)
That is an old version. I cannot edit the first post of this topic, but there is a newer version, 22.20. And soon a 22.21 version. See this post.akcron wrote:Just installed 22.11.
Re: Custom ROM for A7HTV2: Android 2.2 (7HTV2_22.20)
JIT optimization is in this one, but also included in the Eclair 21.04 custom ROM (and maybe in the 2011.16, i'm not sure).nenufar wrote:JIT optimization are real on this version or 7htv2 not support it ?
Re: Custom ROM for A7HTV2: Android 2.2 (7HTV2_22.20)
Still cannot update the first post... A new ROM.
7htv2_22.21 17 june 2011
Patched the webkit, so the Android browser doesn't crash anymore on the Google Mobile page.
Also nice to know is that somehow USB Mass Storage is kind of working, see this youtube movie.
Market needs the "market fix", see below.
For fullscreen and adhoc use ROMSettings.
Download : 7htv2_22.21 (multiupload)
7htv2_22.20 12 June 2011
Froyo ROM for Archos 7 HT V2, based on several other RK2818 Android Froyo ROMs. (still the old A7HTV2 kernel
)
Supports ROMSettings for fullscreen operation and AdHoc WLAN. (ROMSettings)
In this Froyo ROM I've made a patch so that the problem with Apps only installing if the device is mounted to the PC is gone (Angry Birds and Aldiko e.g.). Now all applications are installed on Internal memory.
Included Launcher is ADW.Launcher.
Slide lock can be unlocked by sliding, but also with menu button (Short slide of the power switch to the left)
Also got rid of that annoying package scanner.
Download : 7htv2_22.20 (multiupload)
This 7htv2_22.20 and 7htv2_22.21 ROM still needs the "market fix":
1) start the market, sing in to your Google account, and wait a little while (I wait until the new Market update is downloaded, you can see this in Settings->Applications->Manage Applications, under the Downloaded section.)
2) After this go to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications
3) Clear the cache of the Market. (Not the data!)
4) Clear the data of the Google Framework Services
5) Reboot (I recommend doing this by resetting the device with a needle, as it seems the device is more stable after one reset) and go to Market, it should work and show you all apps. If not just repeat step 1 till 5.
Note step 1) If your market the first time keeps "loading", just force close it (Settings->Applications->Manage Applications) and start again.

Re: Custom ROM for A7HTV2: Android 2.2 (7HTV2_22.21)
Hi,
I think the question has not been asked:
which causes the folder "Snapshots" on the memory card? This Folder is there since froyo. There are thousands of log files in it. Various File Explorer crashes when viewing. I don't think it is spyware. Any ideas?
Thank you

Re: Custom ROM for A7HTV2: Android 2.2 (7HTV2_22.20)
I've retried the installation using the amd64 drivers (I had tried before) and still couldn't get my W7 64 bit machine to recognise my Archos. Switching to a netbook running XP solved the problems with the XP driver. Maybe it's my W7 64 bit installation!birdiebnl wrote:I can confirm it is working on 64 bits Windows 7. Probably has to do with the drivers. I've installed the Amd64 drivers coming with RKAndroidBatchUpgrader, RK2818_v1.23(on my intel platform). Otherwise i had a real problem, don't have any 32 bits windows running.hvdwolf wrote:Thanks for this addition. i didn't know it and will add it to the wiki.dms05 wrote:I had looked at this before and tried it without success. However your confirmation of it's ability caused me to try again and I discovered it only works with 32 bit Windows (I was trying on my W7 64 bit machine with Administrator rights) but after swopping to an older 32 bit XP SP3 the process was quick and painless.
I now have v22.20 running well with lots of apps installed. Is it possible to bulk save these so I can upgrade to the very latest version and reinstall them all?
Many thanks.
Re: Custom ROM for A7HTV2: Android 2.2 (7HTV2_22.20)
Well, only thing really changed in 22.21 is the browser crashes. If you're using Opera, i wouldn't bother upgrading. To answer your question, I think TitaniumBackup can do the job?dms05 wrote:I now have v22.20 running well with lots of apps installed.
Re: Custom ROM for A7HTV2: Android 2.2 (7HTV2_22.21)
It seems to be something with a profiler. I cannot find very much info on this. It can be disabled, i'm currently testing what happens when disabling this.AlexArchos wrote:which causes the folder "Snapshots" on the memory card? This Folder is there since froyo. Thanks for both answers! I'll give Titanium Backup a if I need it.birdiebnl wrote:Well, only thing really changed in 22.21 is the browser crashes. If you're using Opera, i wouldn't bother upgrading. Device seems more smoother and responsive. But it can be the placebo effect...birdiebnl wrote:It seems to be something with a profiler. I cannot find very much info on this. Re: Custom ROM for A7HTV2: Android 2.2 (7HTV2_22.21)
outstanding stuff birdiebnl. thanks for all your hard work.
Updated to 20.21 and its awsome, one issue tho. If i use the videoplayer, the menu bar vanishes, and there is no way to get it back. the only way out of the video player is a power off. Am i missing something?
edit: sorry being a fool. the app has a return button....... thanks again

In the VideoPlayer you tap the screen somewhere, and then there is one button, see the photo below, which brings it back.kalioon wrote:one issue tho. Edit: I see you figured out yourself...

Re: Custom ROM for A7HTV2: Android 2.2 (7HTV2_22.21)
That's weird, if i tap the calendar button, the calendar shows up, but no calendars! Will look into this one, don't know if other froyo roms have a working calendar. Someone know? And ifso, which ROM, so i can get a clue why it isn't working.Seetroll wrote:The only problem I have is that if I tap the calendar button, it seems that mail starts up...
