That one would not work, it has output voltages 10-19 and A70 has 5V 2A charger.

Re: Battery Pack for Archos 70 Internet Tablet ...
I think it's going to be tough for us to find a commercial battery pack that works. Looks like a lot of them jump from a 5v 1000ma usb port to at least 10v. I do wonder if it would be possible to make a usb adapter that would just charge it slower.
Re: Battery Pack for Archos 70 Internet Tablet ...
Confused... I was looking at this as well.. Whats the output on the usb?????
Re: Battery Pack for Archos 70 Internet Tablet ...
I picked up a Energizer XP18000 for under $100 on eBay. It comes with a felt case with two slots. I figure I could put the Archos 7o in it. It will power a LAPTOP for an extra 6hrs. LOL
Re: Battery Pack for Archos 70 Internet Tablet ...
Actually, my Tekkeon has these voltages: 3v, 4.5v, 5v, 6v, 7.5v, 9v, 12v, and 14v.Ominous wrote:That one would not work, it has output voltages 10-19 and A70 has 5V 2A charger.

Hey vja4Him -- Is the link you posted the same model as the one you have in your hands?? I know Tekkeon has multiple models..vja4Him wrote:Actually, my Tekkeon has these voltages: 3v, 4.5v, 5v, 6v, 7.5v, 9v, 12v, and 14v.Ominous wrote:That one would not work, it has output voltages 10-19 and A70 has 5V 2A charger.
Re: Battery Pack for Archos 70 Internet Tablet ...
I am still confused. In some treads is written that you can't recharge ARCHOS 70 via USB resp. you can but it is problematic.
BUT
I want to know if i can use external battery pack connected via USB to keep A70 alive. I mean that build in battery will be empty and device will drain power from the external battery pack via USB. Is it possible? If yes how it will affect build in battery?

I posted about using the A70 with the Tekkeon 3450 battery in another thread by mistake:

Re: Battery Pack for Archos 70 Internet Tablet ...
I placed an order with MP3Technologies, which included an USB to power cord converter. It is an "USB to DC Charger for Archos 101 and Archos 70" at http://www.newmp3technology.com/adc101.htm. Earlier in the year I purchased an "New Trent Super-pack IMP500 5000mAh External Battery pack" through Amazon.com (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0013G ... ss_product. Together they allow the A70 to run and recharge on the road.
Originally I bought the IMP-500 for my HTC EVO 4G (which has one of the worst battery times around). I thought this would be a nice extension for the battery to work with the Archos Gen 8 line. I contacted the manufacturer of the battery and all they wanted to know was the voltage of the Archos device. They are both 5V. New Trent replied it will work. They didn't ask about amps.
Well, my experience is in. The battery and the Archos look like they work together fine. No sparks, or smoke, etc. The only draw back is the recharge time when the Archos is in use is really long. It is as, though, the amps put out by the battery are just a little more than is necessary to cover the active usage of the device.
If you have any requests, I'd be happy to try them out for you.

It also has a USB port for charging devices which can draw power from a standard USB port @5V, so with one of the 3.5mm-USB cables it will work just fine.

Re: Battery Pack for Archos 70 Internet Tablet ...
I have an Archos 70 IT 250GB and I've read all the possible reviews on external battery pack. I couldn't for the life of me reach a conclusion regarding compatible External battery packs.
My wish is for the smallest possible external pack that would provide me with additional juice to power the A70H.
I've looked at the Energizer 8000xp and 18000xp and the NewTrent IMP1000.
All of these packs specify a 5V 1000mAH output.
Would that be sufficient to power the A70H.
Are there any other devices that would be worth considering (hoping they are smaller and their chargers are small as well)
Pleas give me the benefit of your hands-on experience...

Re: Battery Pack for Archos 70 Internet Tablet ...
I can tell you several items that don't work.
I have an archos 70 IT 8G that is about 2 weeks old. I have put in a 32G Sd chip and Android Market.
I bought a USB to 3.5mm power adapter from amazon.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003059FAI
The charger supplied with is rated at 5V 2A It puts out 5.4v open circuit
Energizer XP8000
Rated at 5v 1000mA puts out 5.0 v open circuit
Doesn't charge Archos.
MintyBoost
Rated at 5V 700mA puts out 5.0v open circuit
Doesn't charge Archos.
eGear UB-181
Rated at 5V 700mA puts out 5.1v
Charges very slow -20% in 4 hours
Power Bank (Looks like the New Trent unit above)
Rated at 5V 750mA puts out 5.4v
Also very slow 20% in 2.5 hours This won't keep up with an avi movie played from the SD.
I need to build a break-out to measure actual voltages and currents.
As a point of interest I can use the energizer xp8000 to charge the powerbank and the igGear using the usb ports.
Any other suggestions? I am taking a long plane trip soon. At this rate i might be better off with a 9 cell battery for the netbook

msliles,
You can use your power adapter on the long plane ride. Larger Boeing and I believe Airbus planes have ac mains available. I have really never needed to use ac even on a 14 hour flight to China. If you were to use your power adapter though, a cord liberator might be useful to get the wall wart away from the seat.

Re: Battery Pack for Archos 70 Internet Tablet ...
I regularly charge my A70-8GB with the 3.5mm-USB cable and an AC-to-USB charger (TC P310) that came with my T-Mobile MyTouch Slide phone. It puts out 1A @ 5VDC and charges the A70 quite well. Just tonight I charged it from 56% - 100% in two hours while I was using it.
