Issues with apps on my Archos 70
Issues with apps on my Archos 70
Hey guys,
All of a sudden, about a month ago, there are some apps that won't download and install successfully any more. They did before.
Also, I got the App2SD app to move apps to my SD card but I only get the "Move to internal storage" choice. This is not the same thing as the SD card, correct?
My system Info widget tells me that 100% of my system storage is used and no matter what apps I move around, that 100% never budges. I'm unclear on System storage & internal storage.
Furthermore, many apps that told me to update them would not update successfully. What the heck is going on with this thing? Is this a memory issue? If so, how come I can download even more apps (considering they actually install properly)?
Any help?
Thanks all,
Brian

Re: Issues with apps on my Archos 70
Apps2sd is a bit of a misnoma - internal storage on the Archos is treated as the sd card. The sd card is sd/sd card.Apps cannot actually be moved to the sd card, and for good reason - what would happen when you remove the card
Re: Issues with apps on my Archos 70
Unmounted the SD card...same thing. System Storage is full at 100%. I still can't download and install Angry Birds (for example), unsuccessful install. &!@%#$!
Re: Issues with apps on my Archos 70
It has nothing to do with the SD card you've inserted yourself.
Bottom line, you need to uninstall some apps if you want to install any new ones. There are many many threads on this since Archos made such a poor design decision.

Wow Frank, I had no idea this is how the 70 worked - I read through that entire thread. I'm SOL on keeping so many apps on this thing. I was pretty happy with it until I realized about this whole cache issue. I've uninstalled a lot of apps and System storage STILL reads "0B FREE". What the !

I don't know exactly how Android manages it's storage space, but I have noticed that the amount free goes up significantly after uninstalling then rebooting.

Get appinstaller, then when you want to install a new app that you don't have room for, use manage apps in app installer to export/back up an old app that you may not use much, and save that apk to your sd card. That way you don't have to find that app again when/if you want to use it later, it is already on your card and you can use app installer to reinstall it.

Go into files
You will see internal storage & sd storage
Click on internal storage & find DCIM & click on camera.
Simply drag & drop over to the sd storage.
You may have to click a copy or paste button after moving the picture over.
Hope that helps a little
I use the archos xenon 70b with 64gb memory card. No problem

Re: Issues with apps on my Archos 70
Hi everyone, trying to get to grips with our Archos 70b, I've inserted a 32gb sd card as there isn't much room on the tablet itself, but can anyone telle how to move stuff from the internal storage to the Sd card? I've tried dragging and dropping, (no joy) and copying, but can't find the option to paste! Help!
Re: Issues with apps on my Archos 70
Further to my previous post, can I download direct to my Sd card? Trying to download a large app but it's telling me insufficient storage. Any help would be much appreciated (can you tell I'm not technically minded?)
