Archos 2 data reading corruption

Hi again,
Following my message on how to hard reset the Archos 2 (very read topic by the way, which unfortunately has yet to get an answer...) I am posting a new thread to ask about whether any of you have a "cure" for corrupted reading of the data.
After I formatted my device, it seems that the reader "drivers" (or whatever they are, they must have been hidden files) got deleted, obviously, and now the music on my device appears corrupted: it comes up as strange characters and cannot be read or tells me there are no files. I purchased an SD card and at first I could read the data off it, then that too appeared corrupted. If I take out the micro SD card then re-insert it, the data will be readable again for a little while before appearing corrupted again.
Does anybody know what this may be due to, and how it could potentially be fixed? Pretty pretty please with a cherry on top?
