Hi...new owner here. I searched for this and couldn't find anything. When I change the sound preferences through settings they revert back after start-up or reboot. Is there a way to make them permanent?
Thanks
Gail

Yes you are..... Sorry could not help it.GailH wrote:so not even a "you're an idiot"????
Seriously. Probably no one answered because nobody has seen the problem or nobody has any solution.
When you say sound preferences you don't mean the volume do you?
What firmware are you running?
Re: Sound preferences
Thanks...made me laugh!! Using latest firmware and I am specifically talking about the "notification ringtone". I set it to silent but when I re-boot or start up it reverts to the original.
Re: Sound preferences
This is in the standard android settings correct?GailH wrote:Thanks...made me laugh!! Using latest firmware and I am specifically talking about the "notification ringtone". I set it to silent but when I re-boot or start up it reverts to the original.
I've just checked and I had it set to silent a while ago and it seems to have reverted to "On The Hunt"
Testing......
Set to Silent on the A101... power off...power on... Still on Silent
Set to Silent on the A70... power off...power on... Reverted to "On The Hunt" 2nd try the same.
Strange They both have 2.1.08 the thing is I never noticed the notification sound playing anytime.
When do you hear the notification sound?
Re: Sound preferences
The notification sound is when there is mail, updates, etc in the notification bar at the top.
Re: Sound preferences
The only difference for me is that the A101 is not rooted and the A70 is and I have removed the Phone.apk and telephonyprovider.apk That would probably explain why there is a difference.
Have you rooted your device?
Have you rooted your device?
Re: Sound preferences
OK...so partially an idiot....changed settings in particular apps that send notifications (duh), but still don't understand why regular settings re-set.
