Best to order online for in-store pickup since everyone in the store seemed to be confused about this device. $299.
US availability, post links to stores that have it in stock

Yeah B&H has great customer service, I ordered mine at the end of January and it just shipped, but they kept me informed on what was going on the whole time.
If your picking one up i would recommend the 16g 101, as they seem to be getting these on a regular basis!

Dude, you rock!
That's right....I took the Archos over the XOOM. Even if they were priced the same I would still take the Archos. It has it's quirks but they've been in the tablet business for much much longer than Motorola.
Re: US availability, post links to stores that have it in st
I have been looking over the past couple of days and all of a sudden the price on Amazon shot up to a ridiculus $494 so I hit TD right away and ordered one. They're going fast!

I turn to companies like Archos to get away from "unilateral pricing" from companies like Apple and Bose. What's the deal with everyone charging MSRP or at best $5 less?

Prices are coming down....Walmart is rolling back..and driving Amazon & NewEgg to follow ...Good thing I guess.
With Walmart of course you pay taxes but you can return with ease in the store and you get 3 months to do that...

I went to CompUSA (which is now incorporated into Tiger Direct) here in North Texas and they have 2 of the 7" 8GB internet tablets
that for some reason are not on the website.
Here is the listing for the 101 16GB.
http://www.compusa.com/applications/Sea ... =A685-0096
FYI There are not too many of these stores left open since they were purchased after bankrupsy so, I traveled over 30 miles to get
to one without (dumb me) asking the return policy. Found out its only 15 days to return and a 15% restocking fee.
Had to really think about it but, decided to go home and order the 101 on Amazon, which was only $20 more then what they
wanted for the 70!
Is it any wonder these places are closing down??!

Got mine from an hhgregg store. I found that it and the Arnova 10 were actually featured in the weekly circular for the usual price.
In terms of availability, I was told that a lot of stores in the region are awaiting shipments. The store nearby only had the floor model, which I went for since it was is good shape. Got a bit of a discount too. Only pain was that they stuck the wrong USB cable in the box (some proprietary connector for another device), but they happily and quickly hooked me up with a micro USB cable.
It's been a few days and so far I'm very happy with it. Still have a lot of app experimentation to do, but it makes a great comic reader.

I was actually shopping for a portable DVD player for my daughter in the car. Lifesaver... if you are a daddy you know this.
Anyhow, I had been in the market for an IPAD2, I went to Best Buy, the Apple store where they tried to sell me the Verizon model, and even Walmart and no one had an IPAD... Anyway. I stopped at Compusa for the DVD player and they had a couple left of the 101.
So far I am not very impressed with it, but I figured for the incredibly cheap price, it is a nice "smart" DVD player at a minimum, and then some.
I paid 214 dollars with the tax.
The price sans tax is 199.99.
That is really cheap! Yes, they do have a 15 day return policy with a reestoking fee, after all, CompUSA is now more like a refurbished products warehouse.
I will give it my all for a week, see if I can run some work applications that interest me. If I cant, I might return it. But then again... I might just keep it for the kid.

Just got my A101 at Kmart in Clifton Park, NY (NY-146 right next to the Northway). Loving it! They were surprised when I told them they were the only place locally that had them. Regular price. You can check availability on their website.
I checked as soon as I got home and now it says it's unavailable for pick up! Must have gotten the last one, but they should get more soon.
