Global SAT -BT359.... and google maps?

Post by Boxterr »

i got my globalsat-bt359 today, and i have maps installed, and i paired the devices and the GPS signal icon blinks at the top, but it wont get directions unless i have wifi. this is really disapointing for me, and id like to know if anyone knows how to make it work.

Google maps is an online service so won't work offline.

If you plan a route at home navigation will cache the route so you can navigation to your destination.

Only two options I can think is tether to your phone get navigation software that stores maps locally if in us copilot live is only $3 or there abouts. Annoys me why UK is so much more expensive.

There are other offline map options but not sure if the navigation options are as good.

The globalsat bt-359 is amazing isn't it :)

Boxterr, I think this is the same gps that AllenPapapetrou is using. Maybe you can PM him and ask what his setup is.
