New Google Market won't run - process.com.android.vending
The Application (process.com.android.vending) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try Again.
I can't load Market anymore. I cleared the Market Cache and still no luck. Is there a new .apk or something?
Thanks

I've been getting this problem for about the last week too, anyone know how to fix it?
Re: New Google Market won't run - process.com.android.vendin
OK, think I got it. Do this:
Home Screen, Settings, Applications...
Google Apps, "Clear Data"
Market, "Uninstall Updates"
Go back to Home screen, launch Market, re-sign in to Google (email, password... accept agreement, etc.) and the old market appears. Exit Market, when you re-run about 1 min later, the new Market app launches without errors.
Cheers

Ok, didn't work exactly
Now whenever I download something from the market or try to update an app the problem returns

Not what you want to hear, but I only solved that recurring problem by formatting my A5 IT and reinstaling everything from scratch. It was the only way I could think of to get rid of every trace of the Market. Maybe just a reinitialisation woulr do the trick? You'd still have to reinstall your apps.
Re: New Google Market won't run - process.com.android.vendin
Would this involve losing all my saved files too?
Re: New Google Market won't run - process.com.android.vendin
A reformat would lose you all your files. But all you have to do is back them up to a PC first. You do regular backups, don't you? So it shouldn't be much of a hassle.7thSeal wrote:Would this involve losing all my saved files too?
In my opinion (always safest to say that, I'm told) every Archos user should be able to rebuild his / her device at the drop of a hat. Just as with your PC. Just take the usual backup steps.
1 - Operating system ("firmware")
2 - Apps
3 - Data
Re: New Google Market won't run - process.com.android.vendin
Yeah, i have everything on my computer too
It's just a bit of a hassle with a 500Gb device transfering everything over again
But if it has to be done, it has to be done

Messy.. rebuild ahoy. thank goodness for astro and its awesome app backup superpowers...
Re: New Google Market won't run - process.com.android.vendin
Just for completeness, there is an alternative to Astro. I use "Android Manager Free" for my backups. Very straightforward.

Re: New Google Market won't run - process.com.android.vendin
I use AppMonster; it saves the apk file with app name and version number in the file name, the latter being most useful...
Re: New Google Market won't run - process.com.android.vendin
Good point. In fact Android Manager just names the apk exactly as it is sent down the wire to your device. When you see the app in the Market, it's called "Football Manager" or something else sensible (I just made up that name, I've no idea if there's an app called Football Manager, so don't ask). The file itself may actually be called fr25hkjr9.apk or something equally ridiculous.buster8079 wrote:I use AppMonster; it saves the apk file with app name and version number in the file name, the latter being most useful...
So, tempting as it is to "batch" backup ALL the apps, and I DO do this myself, it's worth checking the backed up files to make sure the recognise which one is which, and rename the ones you don't instantly recognise. You CAN find out the real name of the app by clicking on it, as if to install, then the familiar name will be displayed at the top of the screen, along with a message asking if you want to install. Then you can say NO, and rename the file.
Re: New Google Market won't run - process.com.android.vendin
Ok, reformatted, reinstalled google market, still getting the same error message and force close
Re: New Google Market won't run - process.com.android.vendin
I was getting the same force close error, then followed shitepoke instructions above and uninstall market update and cleared cache. and got the new version of market after restarting it agin. But did not liked the new version also there are less apps in new market. How can i go back to old market.?help
Re: New Google Market won't run - process.com.android.vendin
You can uninstall the new market by Settings -> Applications -> Market -> Uninstall Updates.
The old market comes back at least once. There is probably a Sync setting for Market somewhere, that when disabled, stops forced updates? Apparently, Google must be forcing the new Market skin on everyone?
I do know, that I do not have problems since I did this. Also, some Apps categories were missing, but they have seen to come back now. Might be a glitch with Market? Not sure.
I guess I just generated more questions, lol!

I think this may be a firmware issue
Only when I changed back to the 2d firmware did the problem go away
Then I tried switching back to 3d and the problem came back

Re: New Google Market won't run - process.com.android.vendin
This just started to happen for me on Monday Jan. 11: did a new firmware come out then?
Market keeps going to force close, even when I uninstall the latest update, I also have Automatic update turned off, and still have to go through the uninstall prcess to use market.
Also when maket starts to act up AppsLib will not run.
Is anyone else having these same problems or it is just a few of us?
Just wondering if it is select few devices, because there is not much complaining on this board.

I'm not having this problem... would recommend these steps:
1. Uninstall the market and and the other apps in google experience.
2. Clean up the device using the clean up options in settings.
3. Install market again.
