Antivirus even more important--new Android trojan
Antivirus even more important--new Android trojan
Many news outlets are carrying stories regarding the new Android trojan that has shown up in China (experts expect it to spread). Apparently, it's attached to games and other apps. I know many Android and Apple fans don't want to think that they're vulnerable to viruses and trojans, but McAffee is predicting major enterprise security issues in 2011 because of viruses and trojans introduced through employees' mobile devices like cell phones and tablets. The big question here, how many of your are running antivirus programs on your gen8 devices? I have installed the free version of Lookout and am very happy with it. It doesn't seem take up too many system resources and it was awarded the Editor's Choice Award for Spyware and Antivirus by PCTOOLS. If others are running antivirus, what are you using?

Yeah, I really like the "antivirus" one with a capsule pill as a symbol, which is posted just above I think. The name is confusing because it is different on the market vs after you install. And I can't even remember if I found it on the archos market or google market. There are many, but this has a reassuring way of informing you of each check it has made as you download etc.

It's true I've heard you have to download antivirus software now for Cellphones, especialy android phones. I think people need also to be aware of this online protection issue and learn how to protect their phones and the data and files stored on them from threatening viruses, because thiefs can also access to your personal information through the phone and send it to remote servers, etc. Of course Antivirus providers will have to audit this situation and start developing also antivirus apps for androinds. Some of them like avast already have this option. I've read ZenOK Antivirus is going to release a free version too.

I never had problems with AVG, but switched to Kinetoo which runs much faster due to only checking what has changed. Then someone made a persuasive post here that so far the virus problems mainly target phone or other functions that we don't have, so I even removed kinetoo.

Just looking at AVG and Lookout on Apslib - they want to allow some fairly serious stuff/access to your machine maybe that's ok with Android? Make me run a mile if that was Windows
New to this so need some reassuring
