USB Host Port not working with new FW

Did any of you hear anything back from Archos yet?
I did not get any reply so far. I will try to call them directly regarding my support message I opened 8 days ago next week.

USB host working fine for me. Have usb wireless mouse and 2 TB drive hooked up through a usb hub now.

usb devices still not working as FAT or NTFS. Micro SD working fine, sleep mode working fine too.
Still waiting to hear back from Archos. Anyone else had a breakthrough yet?

just a thought - you are telling it to mount when it ass aren't you ?

you can see in notification bar if it does not pop up i believe.

No notifications here, not for any device. (was working ok in older firmware version)

I'm experiencing this problem as well. It did work fine.

The Micro-SD works fine but the USB won't read anything now, it just lights up the flashdrives.

I've had the newest firmware for a few weeks and I'm pretty sure it worked after the upgrade.

I did have launcher pro on my 101 for awhile and have experienced some launchers like zeam screwing up the notification process.

Anybody else with this problem that has never used a custom launcher?

For me it is not related to any 3rd party app. i reformated and reflashed the latest firmware 2 times to see if the problem could have been related to a bad flash. usb is also not working on a vanilla .71 installation. i installed terminal emulator and checked the dmesg output when inserting the usb drive. there is no message. this means that the kernel doesnt even recognise that any hw is inserted.

Could any of you guys with a working usb check the loaded modules with lsmod so i could compare it to mine. i cant see any usb host module loaded in the kernel.

Hi All - Newbie here... I am still on the original firmware that shipped "1.0.90 (Android 2.1-update 1)", have never installed any "loader" apps and now have a problem with the USB...

I've had my 101 for a couple of days now and have had no problems with the USB port up until now (using a flash drive to play video without any issues) however, I have just connected using the micro-usb cable to the PC (which connected fine, making sure to disconnect properly) and since then the USB flash drive is no longer recognized.

I have rebooted the 101 but has made no difference at all. I have also confirmed that there is nothing wrong with the USB flash drive. Any thoughts?

Great now I would have finally had time to call Archos directly, now the website says that customer support is currently not available. How can that happen?

The last time I can recall mine working was when I plugged my iPod touch into it and it recognized it as a camera. That would be perfectly normal in my opinion.

I used it previously to transfer files from my 28 and it worked fine.

There is either a software/firmware issue going on here or major hardware issues.

I spent several hours last night trying to get it to work again. Including a complete wipe of the system several times.

My next test is to format a flash drive in NTFS and see if that works? There doesn't seem to be any type of loose connection issue or pin problem with the female usb host on the unit.

It just flat out doesn't work anymore and Archos better hope it isn't a hardware flaw or they will have bunches of these coming back.

I've tried everything to rectify this but with no success.

Question is: Hardware failure or firmware/software failure.

Why only certain devices and not all?

Put me down for the same problem. Used to be able to mount and transfer files and now it will not connect. Sent a support ticket in today. I am also having my touch screen go dead on me quite a bit and have to power down by holding the power button in and restart. This one may be going back for repair.

Not sure what I'm looking for. I ran dmesg and I can understand some of it.

I see mention of usb host but no connect or disconnect.

Any news on this? My unit won't recognise anything that's plugged into the USB port: memory sticks, USB card drives, full size HDD's. Nada. They connect, as lights come on, but Froyo is not recognising them. I've got a USB keyboard arriving anyday now and if it won't work I will be very pissed off as having a non functional USB port is a pretty major fault.

I have the same problem, my usb host port doesnt work and the sd card reader is broken too.
i have reformated it several times and no sucses and it did work after firm upgrades.
it just stopped working for no reason. mine is going back to the reseller and i am getting my money back!

i'll wait for a motorola xoom with official honeycomb (android 3.0)
ces is 1 one week and there will be lots of official android google supported devices released.

so i think that is the better choise
