LOL.. there isn't any screen sensitivity issues with that film?? I remember leaving it on when first turning on my 101, and it wasn't very responsive to my touch

Thanks

Wow, these are really expensive. But even after careful use I still have a couple major scratches, so I need one of these.

ipad protectors are much cheaper...
I did the same. Although it was a close fit (had to cut a couple mm off horizontally) I wouldn't recommend it. The netbook protector felt a bit "sticky", so multitouch was a lot harder to do smoothly. Ended up throwing it out. Guess netbook protectors are not meant for capacitive screens.

I ended up buying http://cgi.ebay.com/2x-Screen-Protector ... 0278752154, seems like a reputable brand. Not anti-glare, but a good price. How is the anti-glare variety, for those who received theirs? Does it eliminate the glare without hazing over the screen that much? (pics would be nice)

Can someone post some images of how the 101 looks with a matte screen protector?

A lot of people are worried about glare and viewing angles. If there's a possibility of before and after shots, or a video that would be even better.

Need Suggestions for Protector Application

Post by termn8er »

I just received my screen protector and am having the hardest time applying it without getting air bubbles. Any suggestions on how to do this?

Thanks

Yea, you can forget the screen protector.
I tried it also and gave up.
Now I feel it is not needed.

I've got one on mine. Installed it last night. Only took a few minutes and with the squeegee no bubbles. :)

Thanks for that expert opinion.
I have felt the same after using them on BlackBerry phones and tearing them off. I put them on my A5 IMT but skipped the A5 IT as I hated them. It got serious wear marks on it, but it's resistive and gets tapped harder. I don't see putting it on my A70 but I sadly popped for the best one on Amazon so I would have it sooner and more probably better than from Hong Kong. Yes, I paid an absurd amount of money for the Lexard. Here's why I did...

1) Anti glare - this thing is hideous under any kind of lighting. It's bad enough to deal with the viewing angles.
2) Anti fingerprint - again even when I have a stylus in hand it is not as smooth and consistent with a Pogo Sketch as my Samsung Vibrant and I end up with finger prints all over it.
3) Scratch resistant - I already have the cross hatch. Frankly this big screen makes me nervous.

I've read good things about the protectors from Hong Kong. I hope the Lexard is as good or better. I'm designing a nylon case with polycarbonate shielding inside to carry it and protect it from impact. I posted about it in the accessory forum.

The protector if fairly ridged, and has a matte finish that reduces glare. The finger prints are not a noticeable either. The link for it is : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... 0705478315 It is defiantly worth it.

Hi,

Has anyone tried the DuraSec HighTec screen protector on their Archos 101 or 70?

While this is not the most transparent screen protector around, it seems like is has reduced glare and finger print visibility, while having some degree of self healing capability. But there is nothing like someone actually trying it out to see what is it like. It would be great to hear about anyones experience with it. Thanks.

I bought the HD Matte screen from Screen Guardz with the 60% discount it was really easy to apply I didn't get any air bubbles at all but the problem is it was approx 1 mm wider so trimming it was really tough as usual I screwed up the tirmming other than that it is cool. It does cut some glare but not so much. Sensitivity is the same I don't feel any difference. I would recommend it.

How has this screen protector worked out for you after using it for a while?
