A lot of people have been complaining about the Froyo update. I'm not trying to extinguish peoples anger/frustration, but comparisons to the Galxay tab, are totally nonsensical. Frankly a lot of people here I believe are suffering from false value perception.
Things to consider:
-If you actually look at the market for these products, weighing each individual component together you will start to see that this product is already being delivered to us at an extraordinary price point. A price point mind you that is what most likely attracted you to the device to begin with.
-a 20% hit on the cpu a) does not equal a 20% reduction in performance because memory, graphics, storage yada yada yada all impact performance.
-one rom does not ruin a product, look I'm coming from the xda community, and I've had a couple of winmo devices, and one of the things that I learned very quickly was the stock rom generally does not matter if the community is strong. It will take a while for custom roms to become compatible and available for this product, but for that to happen developers need to know that their work will be appreciated $$ and appreciated

. Bitching that the first update wasn't unicorns and rainbows does not encourage people to enter the firing squad of critique.
So I ask you, should join this community and buy the a70 or join the nook of the month club
Aloha dancnpete,
Welcome to our forum
No, you should not join this community

Oops, you already have otherwise you couldn't have posted. Silly me.

Friday installed the nook App, so I guess I can join the nook of the month club and be a member here too. IF I Can Be In 2 Places at Once I figure probably you can too.
If you'd like to see how Archos supported their premiere Android Tablet, the A5A, go to their web site and look at the A5A change log in Downloads.
Now I'm using my A70 to listen to Cat Stevens through a 3way laptop speaker system under my coffee table. Before that I watched a couple of videos I DLed to my PC and had converted for my A5A and copied to my A70. Before that I played a couple of 3D games.
A couple of days ago, to get the large picture, I hooked my A70 to my 60" Sony HDTV.
Will the nook do any of those things?
BTW, I can also read B&N books through the A70 via the nook App. Seems to me a no-brainer. A70 is in and nook HW is out.
Probably I won't be using nook that much on my A70, though. See, Tuesday I should be picking up my 16G A101 from the post office. So I'll be doing most of my eReading on its 10" screen. While I'm using the A101 to eRead I'll be listening to my music and playing a photo slide show of friends and relatives on my A70.
