Moto Droid Users - Bluetooth Tether That Works!

Do you guys have the list of phones that can support tethering with A70/A101 using bluetooth ?

I am using Samsung Omnia 2 with 3G simcard...but I seemed to have the problem in connecting to the internet wirelessly using 3G phone via bluetooth.

Not sure Omnia 2 is supported ?

I have also problems with my HD2. I would be very thankfull if someone could tell me how I can tether with my HD2.....

I'm not sure about HD2. You can try below.

After tinkering here and there, I managed to get the tethering work out fine. Yahoo !

Here are the steps I did to connect successfully using Samsung Omnia 2.
1. In your Archos, go to Settings.
2. Go to Wireless & Network Settings.
3. Turn your WIFI off.
4. Turn on your Bluetooth.
5. Now, turn on your Bluetooth on your mobile phone.
6. In your Archos tablet, under Bluetooth Settings, click ON " Discoverable", then scan for devices.
7. Then pair your Archos 70/101 to your mobile phone "device name" for Bluetooth connection.
8. In Archos, go back to Wireless & Network Settings, go to Cell Phone Tethering, click ON "Prevent Your Device From
Sleeping", you will see Profiles ( your device's name (PAN) ). - must be on.
9. In your mobile phone, go and find "Internet Sharing" application icon, click the icon.
10. In your mobile phone, you will see "PC Connection" - choose Bluetooth PAN. Below this, you will see Network Connection ( Celcom 3G Internet ) or Maxis 3G or Digi 3G. Choose your 3G provider... - I'm using Celcom 3G in Malaysia.
11. Press connect. Now your mobile phone will connect to internet via 3G.
12. Once it is connected, go to Archos under Wireless & Network Settings, look for "Cell Phone Tethering" and click Tether.
13. Now your Archos is connected to Internet using your 3G mobile phone Bluetooth.
14. Now you are ready for action.
15. final step : go to Archos main screen and click on Browser. TADAA !! You are connected.


Guys, do share these steps to those who are using SO2 in this forum or others, so they can benefit from this one.

HI vckc4ever,

I have tryed the steps you told me (i did this already in the past) but this didnt work.
Once I go in the mobile phone to "internet sharing" and choose connect it says "the remote device does not support PAN".

that is also the reason, the A70 uses by default DUN and the HTC HD2 PAN.
I have read in the manual that while configuring the tethering you can choose between DUN and PAN, but in my case there is no field where I can choose it, the A70 uses autom. DUN....thats the problem I think.
