LOL! I just got my tracking info, too!

Keep in mind, just an hour or two earlier, the rep I spoke with explicitly told me that my unit wouldn't ship until next week.

Sorry to say folks, but I'm thinking these tracking #'s (for Ground) probably won't update anytime soon.

I ordered Tuesday evening about 9:00pm cst and received my UPS tracking number at 4:25pm on Friday. Of course it's not showing up UPS website yet.

My packed has been scanned so it really was shipped.

Why tell me they weren't going to ship until next week if they were really going to ship an hour after I called? I'd really prefer to have nothing to do with Archos HQ directly at this point (and tbh, my zeal for getting my hands on an early A70 is completely gone), but I guess there's nothing I can do about it.

I doubt anybody is lying to you to make you feel bad. Snafus happen. I suspect their inventory tracking system is broke.

To be fair, the rep I spoke to was actually insanely nice and helpful. I never blame the little guy anyway though because they're usually just the buffer between the customer and management. Ironically, there's probably nothing worse than incompetent management IMO.

good to hear people aren't taking it out on archos' front line. the reps understand they have a broken system and their management hasn't implemented a system that actually works. probably didn't help that they couldn't get their units to usual channels like amazon and tiger direct.

Paid for the Archos 101 via the archos website on 30/10/2010 and my account was debited on the 02/11/2010 but I am yet to receive a tracking num or a delivery date. I am quite worried as I have sent an email which has gone unreplied. I now wish to cancel this order does any one know how I can go about this.

I don't think the 10 inch tablets are shipping yet. You should see a hold on you're credit card but it should not be charged till they ship it. I'd call them. I think the number has been posted in this thread.

It's better to overestimate the shipping (to be safe) and have it (potentially) arrive early (in which case it does, then it looks like they accomplished all kinds of great things by getting it to you earlier than expected). Just a thought.

I just got my shipping confirmation as well.
Monday, November 8 at 11:15am.

I placed my order on Wednesday, November 3 at 4:00pm.

My credit card has not yet been charged, but I suspect I will see that it has been tomorrow morning.

Mine is on the truck, and I bagged out of work because my house is being worked on. It would be great if I were here to receive it.

But, I can't wait all day, and they usually come around 4:30PM.

Yeah, I don't really know what I was complaining about with regards to them shipping early, tbh. I think I was just angry because thinking about the logistics, I really did prefer to wait to either buy locally or through Amazon, and/or wait to weigh my options with all these new Android tablets/readers coming out soon. At this point though, it's too late for any of that, so I've just decided to be happy and stop whining.

UPS looks like it now recognizes it being a real shipping number and says delivery should be Wednesday. I also saw that it says "signature required." Damnit, I think I feel a sick day coming on...

I would like to note that UPS is retarded.

Package was 200 miles away from me. They drove it through my city and all the way across my state (All three cities on the same major highyway, straight shot), and to a city about 200 miles on the other side.

I've got my tracking number and my credit card has been charged.

Package was shipped from Commerce City, CO two days ago, now it's in Omaha, NE.
I've checked the distances to my city, and barely moved closer.

However, expected date of arrival is November 15, so I can't complain to much.

Received yesterday (although the retarded delivery person didn't "attempt" to deliver it. Just put the sticky note on the door and walked away, even though my wife was at home.
If the delivery person had knocked or rang the bell, my dog would've went banana's and I wouldn't have had to pick it up after work.

Played with it for a bit to make sure it worked and I didn't have screen issues that I needed to RMA.
Checked to make sure the battery wasn't full, but not dead either.

Took it to my parents place for them to wrap up for me for Christmas...I love shopping for myself.

I'm actually hoping a lot of the issues people are having will be remedied with froyo (which I hope is released before Christmas).

Until then, I will go back to lurking and taking notes.
