Question re volume archos 2

I bought an Archos 2, not vision, second hand. Can anyone confirm the volume only goes up to 40?
I watched the video review and saw that one was on 40, but is this as high as it should go?
Seems a wierd number to pick.

Yes, 40 is the maximum volume. It's not that loud, but it's ok.

Thanks a lot - again a strange number to pick. I'm happy now as I discovered the fault. It appears if I slot the earphones all the way in I get mono sound. Leave them sticking out a bit - fine. I can live with that.
