Replced 605 battery but power problems

Post by kaickul »

Hey guys,
I recently replaced my 605's battery. Everything worked afterwards but now if it's not connected to anything like charger, cradle etc, and I press the power button it shuts off immediately. It doesn't turn on unless I reattach it to the cradle or a usb charger, then it finally turns on. Hope you guys can help or point to the right direction. I want my Archos to be mobile again.

Thanks.

Sounds like the battery has no or very little charge in it.

Try charging for an extended period of time

ps why did you have to change the battery to start with, (I'm thinking maybe a fault with the 605's charging circuit)

Hey,
My original battery held a charge for about 30 seconds so I had to replace it. What happens now is that, not connected to anything that charges it, it'll work until you press the power button. It then immediately shuts off and won't come on until plugged in to a power source, I believe the fault lies in the power button itself and not the battery. I've never come across anything on the forums about this. Thanks for your replies.

Perhaps your original battery only lasted 30secs was because your Archos has a charging circuit fault and wasn't charging it, and now it isn't charging your new battery also.

Not quite sure what you mean by "not connected to anything that charges it, it'll work until you press the power button. " ?

Can you get it to work then ?, if so, what does the battery indicator show ?
