Mojocafe 3.0 relaunched and online

Post by cyberholic »

Hi everyone,
i haven't been here for a while. I have a news and also a question but i will
start with the news first.

I relaunched my web project called MOJOCAFE at http://www.mojocafe.net and as some of
you allready know, it is a page that brings fullscreen widgets to mobile devices.
Just like the Archos family :)
The most important thing about it is that you do not need to register with the
page anymore. As i hate to register everywhere, i thought about a workaround
how to use the page without having to register - and found it.

AND NOW CHECK THIS:
With the help from _av500_ and dm8tbr we were able to find a solution
so that the fullscreen mojos work on the ARCHOS products.
For now we can confirm this:
You can have fullscreen mojos at the gen5 products that are 605, 605f and 705wifi.

So the only question is:
could you try out the project and write in here if it works on your device !?
Simply just write down your device model and if it worked out.
WiFi for this is necessary!

The easiest way to test it out would be this:
1. visit http://m.mojocafe.net on your ARCHOS device.
2. You should see a MOJOCAFE animation
4. Afterwards you can enter a code. Enter this 56-azom
5. A playlist should be loaded and within a few seconds you should see
the first out of 4 mojos (a clock that is).

Hope to hear from you and best greetings,

Carlos

I've made my playlist perfectly on my PC, but when I input the playlist code thing on my Archos 605, its just on the "Checking Your Entry Please Stand By" screen, doing nothing.. :?

Hi Cyberholic, just saw your post and since no one has responded yet I thought I would test it out for you.
Logged on to the site and had a slight problem with the keyboard on the Archos, I could type the code you
gave but when I tried to hit the return or the x button it would put a dash and an a with a tilde on it(could not find
it on my regular keyboard) so I just hit the box next to the code and it worked great!
All 4 pages loaded fine and everything looks good.
Keep up the good work.

hi you both,
first of all thanks so much for testing it out!
My main problem is that i do not own an Archos so with most answers i always
will have to guess then to tell you a good solution.

But: due to the help of some awesome people that i met through the ARCHOS
channel in an IRC chat, we did found out that some device generations might
have problems with "saving cookies" on the Archos.

Now for the less technical ones between us let me explain this.
When you visit http://m.mojocafe.net these steps happen technicaly...
1. the screen size of your device will be checked.
2. due to the screensize you will be redirected through javascript to a new page.

and now something happens where we together at the IRC found this out:
3. the Flash file tries to check if a cookie exists where a previous entered playlist ID
is inside. As we found out, some ARCHOS devices do not work this out so the animation
will loop at the same location.

"So what is the cookie good for?" you might ask. Well it is like this:
if you enter a playlist code and press the START MOJOS button, the code is save
on the device as a so called cookie - that is some kind of mini text file holding the
code as information.
This way you will not have to enter the last code once you visit the url again.
So it is for usability.

Sorry for my bad english and i hope that you have understood what i mean.
I hope to find a solution and have more information through the help of the ARCHOS
people at the IRC ... i will keep you updated.

Thanks again for trying it out and see you later,
Carlos
