Re: Youtube/iplayer
If you have the web browser plug-in, then you can watch YouTube and of that sorts. But you need WebTV plug-in to watch live streaming videos.
Re: Youtube/iplayer
At the end of the day it all depends on the content at the other end
You cannot watch iPlayer through the browser as the flash version of the site is too intensive for the player.
Also, youtube and iplayer have updated the version of flash that they use. The 605 is stuck at version 9 and probably won't be updated any further.
The webtv plugin is really just a list of known sites that work. Its nothing special

Re: Youtube/iplayer
can anyone try to hack this up .. I mean this is linux maybe a couple of tweaks in the code can make the Archos play new flash animations don't you think?
Re: Youtube/iplayer
People have tried to hack the archos. No-one has manged it above 1.8. It may be linux based but 90% of the the code it uses is custom. Even the successfull hacks haven't had anywhere near the performance of an un-hacked archos

Of course, you can always download the flv files from YouTube and play them on your Archos when you are offline.
I have a collection of Music Videos on mine.
There are many youtube downloaders out there, just Google for them.
