Avi file won't copy

Post by Terrapin »

I've got an avi file that's about 700mb in size (it's a 90 minute long thing). It won't copy onto my AV500. I've updated the firmware and recoded the file using the MPG4 software but all I get is an error message that says "Cannot copy video.avi. The device has either stopped responding or has been disconnected".

Any ideas? Is it the size of the file that's the problem?

Have you tried different files this size?... Try a different USB cable... they get old....

If you have a USB flash drive... and the USB host cable... then tranfer the .avi file to the Flash drive... and open it from the USB host feature...

I carry many movies and music files in my 8gb flash drive and it is my extra storage... also you can tranfer it from there but... a 700mb files will take about 30 minutes to do it...

as previously mentioned - check your leads first (they are standard leads so getting another one shouldnt be a problem), or try to transferre from another usb port or puter. you could also do a scandisk from windows to check the hard drive is ok.
