how do u change the password for wifi logging in?

Post by Terry75 »

I've had to change the password for my wifi connection, but I can't seem to input the new password into my Archos 5.

My Archos tries to log in with original password automatically and then reads 'connection failed', but never gives you the option to get to the password set-up.

I looked at the PDF manual but can't find anything on this.

I think if you go into "Internet", "Connection", access the top right-hand menu and select "Settings", if you then "Reset WiFi Configuration", this should allow you to re-configure your settings.

Cheers,

The option 'Reset Wifi Configuration' does not exist in settings on my Archos.

It just comes up with the Airplane ON/Off option in 'Network Manager'

Please make sure your child protection setting is off.

This just gets more bizarre!

It wasn't in child-protection mode, but now I think it is! I haven't entered a code though, but now it looks like it's asking me for one. Do I need to get in touch with Archos now?

There is a thread with how to get this turned off, on here.

From Archos Web site-
I forgot what the 'Parental Code' is. Where can I get it?
The factory default code is "0000".

0000 works on my Archos and the device is now in Adult (unrestricted) Mode, but there is still no option to re-configure the wifi setting

Another option is to clear your cache this will delete you wifi connection stuff.

I take it you mean clear the web browsers cache? But I can't do that because I can't access the browsers options without a connection.

And where is that?

I've looked in Tools/Settings and gone through all the menus, but can't find anything to do with the Cache.

Thanks brdystyls for you advice. Clearing the cache in Customer Assistance has worked and finally my Archos is connected again! =D>
