I recently have bought an Archos 405.
If I buy a minidock, can I charge/use the Archos without computer or tv?

Yes. The minidock with include a Mains/AC adapter that can plug into the mini-dock and charge your Archos. In addition, the mini-dock allows you to use USB devices such as flash drives, keyboard, and mice with your Archos. This is false... dont get your hopes too high... anyway the 405 does not have much use for a mice and keyboard.... BUT you can plug flash drives, other MSC mp3 players (all Archos models)... I even paired my Blackberry 8220 with the USB Host on my AV500 and 405...
Very useful for charging othr devices out of it on the go... (i.e. just take the Mini Dock and a standard mini USB cable and you can charge many phones, other archos, mp3 players etc)
