Charging a 405 2Gb

Post by skydragon »

Hi,

I've just got a 405 2Gb along with a travel DVR and there seems to be four ways of charging

1) Via the mini USB connector on the 405, by plugging into the USB of a PC.
2) Via the mini USB connector on the 405, by plugging into a mains powered USB charger, as used on PDA/phones.
3) Via the travel DVR using a mains charger plugged into the travel DVR's DC power socket
4) Via a USB or mains charger that plugs not into the mini USB on the 405, but into one of the multi-pin Archos connector ports.

Can anyone comment on the differences on charge time between them?

I tried using method (1) and found the 405 would not charge whilst being used (ie, the PC USB wouldn't provide enough power to charge and power the 405 at the same time.

I then tried method (2) using and old phone charger and this appears to be far better (it will charge and power the 405 at the same time).
