AV480 won't power up

My AV400 series (AV480) won't sart up. When I power on, a loading bar appears and stops just as it is nearly fully loaded and freezes, and thats it! It stays in frozen with the red light on.
Anybody got any ideas how to fix this problem?

sounds like a dead drive to me if the power light stays on. one good thing though the drive is do it yourself replaceable, it is a standard 2.5" ide hard drive, it will also take upto 120gb drive which are dirt cheap now. i will have a trawl though the net to see if i can find a walkthru.
