Just received my 504 80 Gigger from Amazon

Amazon has a really good deal on the 504 right now. Most places charge $399 while Amazon is charging only $359. I got it overnight and it cost me an extra 20 bucks. You can also get it shipped free (ground).

I'm going to write up a proper review within the next few days so if you have any questions, fire away so i can address them in my review. First impressions of the device are very good but i was disappointed to see that it doesn't come with a replaceable battery and a kickstand. Its quite light surprisingly but a little chunkier than the 604.

It's battery is replaceable, it's twice the size of of the 604 which took up the slot for the kickstand.

Oh, so that means incase i wan't an extra battery, all i need to do is unscrew and then replace the battery myself? Is that right?

If thats the case, then i'm a happy camper!

The battery doesn't even require unscrewing - you push a button and slip it out. :-) The 80 gigger definitely has a replaceable battery - I wouldn't have bought it without this feature.

You're right! There's a switch on the side that we can just slide and that i just slide down and that helps remove the battery. Neat! Now, i wonder if anyone sells replaceable batteries :)

You must be a powerlifter if you think the 504 is light. It's very solidly built, but a bit heavy. I don't mind the weight, because I'd rather have a quality build than something that's not going to hold up well, but it's definately not light.

Well, i actually use the i-mate Jasjar as my primary convergence device and thats around the same weight ;) Still, for an 80 gigger, i DO think its pretty light (315g if i am not mistaken).

I got mine from Amazon too. I bought the DVR station with it too for $89.00 (last one).

This is my fist PMP, so I don't find the weight that bad. Compared to the PSP it is just a little heavier though.

Overall I really like it. One problem I had was that when I tried to transfer 30 gigs of music via the hard drive option, it froze up when I disconnected and it scanned the files. I did make sure to use the safe to disconnected icon in the system tray. Maybe it was just too large of a transfer at one time. I did wait a few hours though so it wasn't that I didn't wait long enough. But, MOST of the music made it on so I'm happy. The hard part is trying to go back through and finding out which tracks didn├óÔé¼Ôäót make it!

Anyone know of some good sounding, yet portable speakers?
