Make sure that your cable/sat box is OFF. The unit will initate the "power" action when it goes to record the first show on the schedule. So if it is already on (the box) it will turn it off. Also, alot of their remote codes are WRONG. I have a charter motorola digital box. The code they list didn't work. Through trial and error, the code for Comcast Digital actually worked. The 7 lead cable goes to DVR and into SKY/Cable box.
The other 6 lead cable goes from DVR to TV.
The 7 lead cable has the additional black lead over the 6 lead cable, plus 2 x red, 1 x yellow, 1 x white, 1 x green, 1 x blue and 1 x black.
The other is 6 leads, 2 x red, 1 x yellow, 1 x white, 1 x green and 1 x blue.
Both have a SCART (RBG) plug on the end.
Once you've done that, you need to get the correct IR EMITTER code working with your STB, which you haven't mentioned what it is ??

You didn't mention your own recordings problems once !!
I have managed to set the scheduler to record tv successfully but ONLY the channel I am watching, so if I change channels with my Sky remote it will record me doing so. I tried with the SkyBox off but no joy, nothing happened. I also cannot get what I am watching on the Archos to appear on my TV, I used to be able to do this but recently changed the code on my Sky remote (following Skys on-screen instructions) to allow me to use the volume control on my Sky remote which I could not previously do but now can - but lost the ability to watch whats on my Archos! 
I would like to be able to record properly off Sky while watching another channel. I am pretty sure I know what it is -- the DVR units have an issue where it will temporarly loose power for a mili-second. This will cause the unit to either A) Just shut down and take you back to the screen calibration; or B) Catch itself in the recording mode and either shut the recording down since it has lost that scheduling or just continue to run into infinity as if you set it up for a manual record and continue until you run out of space.CBers wrote:It's a shame you're so far away Mission - I'd like to have had a look at your 704 and see what the problem is for myself.

That's why I bought 4 Archos devices
It was an Archos DVR station? and replacing the AC adapter fixed it? If that is the problem, and these dolts haven't figured it out and you have.... well I guess that wouldn't really come as a shock.discodave82 wrote:This is just a off the top of my head idea.
