Re: Froyo Voltaire Rom (Android 2.2) rooted

@marcy65: choose the x86 drivers. You don't have to copy anything to your reader. This will be done by RKBatchUpgrade. Better remove the SD Card from your reader.
@eddy:
Do I have to formating the SD-card in ext3 ?
I don't think so...

In the old BQ 2.1 image, /etc/hosts is a symlimk pointing to /sdcard/hosts. This makes it easy to place a modified hosts file onto the sdcard to block advertisings. In the new 2.2 image, /etc/hosts is a regular file, therefore it is no longer possible to use a hosts file on the sdcard. Perhaps it ...

Re: Finding a better rom

I don't think that flashtools supports other languages.
The fonts are located in the fonts directory-> a tutorial: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:P-spzUUBTysJ:karuppuswamy.com/wordpress/2009/04/25/how-to-change-fonts-in-android/+change+font+android&cd=3&hl=de&ct=clnk&gl=de ...

Re: Finding a better rom

Be careful! Don't blame me for bricked reader :? .
First you need AFPtool.exe. Copy Afptool.exe and my image in the in the same directory. Open a Command prompt, cd to this directory and type:
afptool -unpack update.img unpacked
you should now get this output:

Re: Finding a better rom

It is fully rooted. The system partitions filesystem is CRAMFS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CramFS). It is read only. The only way write on it is a special driver called "aufs.ko". Hvdwolf tried it in his Archos 7v2 roms and removed due stability reasons ( http://forum.archosfans.com/viewtopic.php ...

Re: Finding a better rom

No, you can't uninstall the stock apps, because the filesystem is read only. The only way is to hide them with a launcher like ADW or remove them at image creation.
The slides? Don't know. Maybe a restart will do the work? Or clear the cache of the market app.
