working for me on archos 43IT 2.3.26, I had to hit the power button then turn it back on so the keyboard to type in a username would pop up, weird.

This might be a problem if you calibrated with a stylus rather than your finger(s), I calibrated my touchscreen with my index finger, never had any problems with the keyboard at all, vert/horizontal both very accurate.

what kind of security measures have you setup for your router? is it wpa or wpa2? i had problems with a few gaming devices in the past with using wpa2 security on my routers config it may or may not be related to the problem you are having *shrugs*

Since I updated the new firmware I notice my videos(mkv,avi,mp4 etc) play just fine without the use of the archos optional plugin($) while using the normal archos video player, anyone else notice this?

try deleting the cache folder for albums? go to Android/data/com.cooliris.meda/cache/ delete the local-album-cachechunk and index files, not sure it will work but theoretically it should recreate your art for each album instead of reloading the same old cached files.
