I haven't noticed a SLIGHTEST difference IN ANYTHING over the course of 217 firmware updates I did on my 43. The unit works now exactly the same as it did in February when I bought it.

I hope this makes it clear.

May I ask you which firmware you are on? Things definetely improved since the July fw.

For launcher I use launcher pro, the default one sucks indeeed. I use Dolphin HD for browsing, yes, it's just a skin over the default one, but I like the tabs and other things. Youtube via Flash 11 works for me ...

Looks:
Archos: 6/10 plain. Drab color, plastic case around bezel, which encloses the screen - this design looks cheap. I like how thin it is though.
Samsung: 10/10. This is your typical Galaxy. Elegant, sleek. Nice contract of black screen, chrome frame and white rounded back.

You only buy codecs for AC3 and .vob files so before you say something like this Nuieve do a research please.

My bad then. It used to be the case for my 43. You had to buy the codec pack to play MKV and some other common formats. If they changed it - good, but still that doesn't make this tablet ...

When you buy a brand name tablet, it just works.

When you buy one them chinese knockoffs (we can put archos in that category) you get shoddy build quality, abound glitches and defects, and general instability, and plain stupid things like a 3G dongle that doesn't work in US.

The A43 connects every blue moon. The cable is certified and not a problem. Its the stupid A43 that can't make a HDMI connection with any TV. I tried at least 5 different TVs, and only managed to get signal on two. And even with these two, it didn't connect right away. Took me a good 10-15 of ...

First of all, it shows 2.1.4 not 2.1.04.
Second, I didnt notice any kind of improvements in anything (screen sensitivity comes to mind). What I did notice though is that flash now is so slow now that I cant browse pages with it with any comfort, youtube videos are not videos anymore but slideshows ...

Cause it has sh1tty resistive screen, thats why. I gave up on using fingers with this thing, i use a pen, and it works perfectly.
