Have been noticing with this firmware that my Wifi doesn't automatically connect after coming out of deep sleep. I need to manually go into wireless settings and then wireless networks for it to connect to a wifi network. Very annoying.

It is much more responsive BUT streaming some sites still results in a slide show...

It wouldn't work even if you were able to sideload it.

It can only run on phones with Qualcomm chips.

I will most likely be getting this. I really like the idea of turning my tablet into a net-book when needed. (and the honeycomb OS definitely performs in that respect w/ asus's added software) What sold me though, is the price. And the form factor. My Archos 101 did its job, but its now time to get ...

I had this problem with the stock player too so I went ahead and tried another music player like Winamp. It worked.

I use PowerAMP now, a much better player for the Archos tablets, but 5 bucks though. Winamp would be good on the < 4" units IMO.

Anyone thinking of trying this out on the Archos?

OK, I found out how to get mlb.tv to work on my N1. However, since the Archos are not approved devices by mlb.tv, (see the app description in the market) I am unable to view live video streaming of any baseball game on my Archos 101.

I don't think I would want too anyway, the quality on my phone ...

I didn't purchase the app, but instead sideloaded it from a website. The app works on my Archos 101. However, I can't get mlb.tv to work, (stream live games) which I was really hoping for. It doesn't work on my N1, either. (supposed to be supported) I don't know if it is because I installed the app ...

Installed. Saw how much system memory it uses up (even after moving to internal) and I uninstalled. Ran real smooth though. Flash too.

Works for me. Angry birds Rio is great! They have highborn on there too, I might just have to try that.

Archos 70 Internet Tablet fits in about 95% of normal jacket inside pockets. Meaning, as long as you wear a jacket, you can take your A70IT with you everywhere you go outside without needing a bag. That is the main purpose of choosing the 7" form ...

Find me a pocket large enough to fit a 10.1" 730gr tablet. Those pockets do not exist. And people don't carry around a bag just to bring with them a tablet. It just doesn't happen.

This seems like a flash back to the Gen7 getting flash in June of 2010 in Android 2.0 - it didn't happen.

I believe we will probably never see an Adobe certified Flash on the Gen8s.
