I had the same problem this morning. Archos G9 Turbo 1.2 with 4.07.
It did not want to switch-on and when I plug it in to recharge the green light was coming for one second and then it was off.

I have the Archos G9 80 and the HDMI cable from Archos 5 IT and it is working fine with video. I could watch a 40 min divx without problem. Great improvement with both screens (Archos and TV) on as compared to Archos 5 IT.

I have seen a few message saying that the problem of file corrupted was solved with FW 1.4.25. I believe this was mainly happening with the 500 GB version playing video or audio. I had that problem and returned mine in November.

I use Shure s110 and never had a problem with the sound volume. I usually use it at half volume and it is really loud enough. It may depend on the characteristics (like impedance) of the headphones.
