Scientific Calculator

After getting tired of forgetting my Ti-83+ in my mechanical engineering classes, I decided to whip up a scientific calculator. It's pretty solid, and rather encompassing. It can do: Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, Division, Exponents, Parenthesis, Log, Natural Log, e to any power, Sin, Cos, ...

New Calculators and Paint

Hello everyone, I previously made a calculator and paint flash applet for the 605. I recently got an Archos 5 and figured I would update them to work appropriately. Along with updating the old programs, I created a new graphing calculator. You can download the files here: http://cbuddy.googlepages.c...

Re: video background?

I'm actually a big fan of the animated background. I have an animated background on my cell phone, and it has been that way the entire time I've owned it. If the animation is subtle enough, it can be a nice, complimentary background.

Re: video background?

If you watch the ArchosLounge video demo of the 5, you'll see the animated background. It seems like an awfully long animation to be a .gif

Right now there's no way to make a .swf a background, and I don't think that it is in the initial scope of any hacker trying to crack the device. Sorry!

I was one of the people confused as to why everyone wanted flash 9 as well, but basically here is the short of the updates: Flash 8 gives you more special effects (blur, bevel, color effects), and other small improvements (I think including the ability to harvest db levels from audio). Flash 9 gives...

For some reason Archos announces a feature lots of people were whining about, and now everyone else is wh...

If you're interested, there was a topic here a while ago ( http://forum.archosfans.com/viewtopic.php?t=7459 ) that you could check out about the same thing (although far less scientific). Edit - I also found this topic http://forum.archosfans.com/viewtopic.php?t=6594 which also has a website to test...

I personally don't have the wifi issue (can get it in my house two stories up from the reciever, and in the parking lot for the local Panera), but I feel for those who do.

I believe the wifi antenna is located just below the antenna signal on the back of your 605 on the right hand side.

Just a warning; be sure to back up all of your info regularly. When you come to a time when you can have your 605 gone for a month or two, request an RMA number, and send it back to be checked out by Archos people. Your hard-drive may seem like it's ok, but I'm almost positive the issue will come ba...

Sounds like it was an issue with your connection. The content-portal should work without having to pay for the browser.

Why should they stop selling the browser? The browser doesn't enable flash, it's enabled when you get the unit (don't believe me? Drop a .swf file in a 605 without a browser... it'll work). So, in all actuality you didn't pay for flash, you just paid to let your 605 go on non-content portal websites...

No, those files are for use in a stand-alone flash player which the 605 does not support. It will only support flash games / utilities in .swf format.

Headphones and Volume Quality

After reading the "Pump up the Volume" thread I decided it would be a good idea to have a topic with people comparing their headphones and volume settings and how they feel the quality is, so as we can see whether the issue of volume is due to the 605, or the headphone set-up. Mine: Philips SHE5920 ...

Because it was available to download automatically when connecting your 605 to the internet on the 29th. It wasn't available to actually download from their website until today, the 5th.

Garmac, you are still limited to the firmware you used to have. Since the firmware is stored in the flash memory of the 605, you cannot downgrade (other than from 1.7.13 to 1.7.06).
