Been a while since I last used this device and I found FW version 1722 but my 504 will not recognize it...

Is FW update 1722 the most current? My current version is 1653. I dropped the 1722 into the root directory but my 504 does not recognize it and will not update to 1722! Am I missing something ...

I have the same model and I just use a program called "ANY DVD" to decrypt my DVDs (Runs silently in the background) and use "Clone DVD Mobile" all made by Slysoft. I rip everything in the format I want with CDVDM then just transfer the ready made file over to the player.

Anyone know when the next firmware update for the 504 will come out? Last update was in March. Any idea what will be fixed?

Does anyone have a link for the how to or step by step procedures for the DVD-WMV program? Trying to copy a DVD to my HDD so I can save it for later.

Here is the biggest question with regards to the 504...can you swap out the HDD on the 604 Wi-Fi? If so...there will be a run on them since they only come in a 30gb version.

Does anyone know if the .mpeg4 extenstion files that are used for the iPod are compatible with the Archos 504? If so, I should be able to view my iPod movies on the Archos and maybe only have to readjust the screen sizing whenn recording? I already have both plug-ins installed.

I keep seeing this question over and over again and keep saying the same ole thing...BUY Slysofts "AnyDVD and Clone DVDMobile" programs and be done with it all...they support more PMPs than most and that's why I bought it!

AnyDVD breaks the CSS code while DVD Mobile copies and creates one file ...

The Noreve case is a QUALITY case and I would recommend it to everyone! It is not made to hold the 504 while in any charger...you have to remove it from the case then place it in the charger...charger slot is only big enough for the 504 and a snug fit so no extra room for a case or it would not fit ...

As stated above, the plug-ins are NOT transferable...mainly because they are assigned to the number on the unit via ARCHOS and therefore cannot be transfered...I had to buy one of them all over again when I upgraded to the 160gb unit!

If you buy the unit directly from ARCHOS...MAYBE they will re ...

Ok I'm stumped here...with the DVR station, you are basically placing it in the "LOOP" with your TV...but the diagram shows you have to have "R-Y-W" (Audio-Video) IN & OUT on your TV like on the DVR Station. None of my TVs have an OUT. I have plenty of INs though. I can't remember ever seeing a TV ...

Hate to keep saying it but Slysoft's "Clone DVD Mobile coupled with AnyDVD for CSS decrypting" is the way to go...quick and easy! This is coming from a guy who is not as "tech savy" as all of you either! Just my input though...to each his own.

Thanks to all replys, I finally got the cable to work...had to make sure it was FULLY pluged...DUHHH I think the leather case I had it in was preventing the plug from going all the way in and I did not notice it. Sure was a relief to see it work though and great picture!

Ok all...I need some help here...I got the 3.5 to r-w-y RCN plug cable for the Archos that plugs into the headphone jack and for the likes of me I can not get any movies to come up on my TV screen!
