Tried to port to our devices (mine is 7c) and it boot loop.
I've tried this N9 ROM myself (also a N6 and a VX580w) but no luck. These ROM's all have a new kernel which fixes a lot of problems. These kernels don't work on the A7HTV2. Maybe on the A7C? (I don't think, as the only other kernel i get to work on the A7HTv2 is the A7C kernel. Only problem with that kernel is that touchscreen is not working ;-) )
To get ADB working, you have to change the boot.img, and change the folowing lines in default.prop:

Code: Select all

ro.secure=0
ro.allow.mock.location=0
ro.debuggable=1
persist.service.adb.enable=1
Good luck! (i got stack dumps in librarys with those ROMs)

N9 kernel not work on my device too. With N9 kernel i can't boot up my 7C. So we have to wait? I've edited boot.img already, android ADB device showed in hardware manager windows but with adb shell it showed no device. Now I reflash my 2.1 again, try to make adb logcat work.
Thanks much,

You need a working kernel to get adb working.

Yup you misunderstood, with 7c kernel i have boot loop (repeat at bootanimation), adb still showed but not found in adb. Tried N9 kernel too, and it absolutely not boot, no screen, no device in hardware.
However, found many strange opencore .so file inside lib. I think it cause lib dump at you said.
And what is inside misc.img?(i can't cat or dump mtd0 with rkdump)
Can we modify something to make N9 kernel boot?
Thanks,

Try to reset it with a needle or so via the pinhole on the back side.

For some reason i cannot update the first post... A new ROM.

7htv2_22.20 12 June 2011

Froyo ROM for Archos 7 HT V2, based on several other RK2818 Android Froyo ROMs. (still the old A7HTV2 kernel :( )
Supports ROMSettings for fullscreen operation and AdHoc WLAN. (ROMSettings)
In this Froyo ROM I've made a patch so that the problem with Apps only installing if the device is mounted to the PC is gone (Angry Birds and Aldiko e.g.). Now all applications are installed on Internal memory.
Included Launcher is ADW.Launcher.
Slide lock can be unlocked by sliding, but also with menu button (Short slide of the power switch to the left)
Also got rid of that annoying package scanner.

Download : 7htv2_22.20 (multiupload)

This 7htv2_22.20 ROM still needs the "market fix":

1) start the market, sing in to your Google account, and wait a little while (I wait until the new Market update is downloaded, you can see this in Settings->Applications->Manage Applications, under the Downloaded section.)
2) After this go to Settings->Applications->Manage Applications
3) Clear the cache of the Market. (Not the data!)
4) Clear the data of the Google Framework Services
5) Reboot (I recommend doing this by resetting the device with a needle, as it seems the device is more stable after one reset) and go to Market, it should work and show you all apps. If not just repeat step 1 till 5.

Note step 1) If your market the first time keeps "loading", just force close it (Settings->Applications->Manage Applications) and start again.

That's interesting. I've tried several different bootloaders, and they were all working. So I included the newest RK28xx bootloader.
I've had no problems with that.

I've updated the ROM with the original bootloader, and edited the download link.

Birdie, just to check, do I just load the new firmware like I did the first time, and "update"?

That's correct. Just copy the update.img (from the 7htv2_22.20.zip file) to your device.

I think you found a feature of ADW.Launcher? A swipe up on the screen let's the statusbar disappear, and another swipe up on the screen shows the statusbar again.

I thought you had to swipe right in that menu area. (It's a bit difficult, I've disabled this, it's called Dockbar, you can disable in UI Settings.) You can also assign a function to the Home button, (General Behaviour) Open/close DockBar, then you can use the home button to bring it back, if you want to use the dockbar.

No, doesn't work. If you are very lucky you can get your USB flash drive mounted, but it's just luck, not repeatable. (as with all froyo roms)
