Help! USB is not connecting

Re: Help! USB is not connecting
Where do you see the message(player or computer)? What is the exact text of the message?
Re: Help! USB is not connecting
Hello there it says on my laptop USB has malfunctioned and device error when I play in the car
Re: Help! USB is not connecting
Does it boot to OS? What exactly (video, music or any file) did you try to play in the car and what EXACT message did appear on the screen?
Re: Help! USB is not connecting
Hi there it literally connects to the laptop says USB not recognised and in the car the Archos won't connect and says device error I can't extract the files either from the mp3
Re: Help! USB is not connecting
I need to know exactly when does it says device error(during boot or connect). Is there an error code? Seems to be a hard drive problem. You could try to connect the hard drive directly to your computer with some IDE-to-USB adapter.
Re: Help! USB is not connecting
It just says that the USB is not recognised but I'll try again later on today and send the description
Re: Help! USB is not connecting
I need the message from the player, not the laptop
Re: Help! USB is not connecting
The player is fine it's when it connects to the laptop or car it malfunctions I can play off it but I need to extract the files
Re: Help! USB is not connecting
To extract needed files try to connect the hard drive directly to your laptop using IDE to USB adapter. It should work.
Re: Help! USB is not connecting
I will need to buy one of these?
Re: Help! USB is not connecting
Sure, but only if you really need those files. I recommend you to buy an SSD to replace your hard disk. I'm using SSD. It is much reliable than HDD.
Re: Help! USB is not connecting
Sorry if this sounds stupid so I basically buy it then transfer the files to the laptop and get rid of the Archos? As it keeps breaking down
Re: Help! USB is not connecting
You're right. But I recommend you to get another hard drive to find out what's the reason of your problem. If it will repeat then the player is damaged. Another reason could be bad connection. So in this case you should try another USB cable.
Re: Help! USB is not connecting
Indeed thank you very much for your help
